Not Sure.....

Hello everyone,

Well, as the title suggests...I'm not sure where I was going with this card....

I had my new stamp from Tracey  my second Tilda [yay] from my candy win...all set to go..and didn't really go anywhere...

I think I was so excited about having a Tilda stamp...my brain could just see ink...

But there she is...flying through the clouds, a few feathers for softness in the clouds, some flowers and half pearls. Cute sentiment, which I had written down.. and that paper went out with the scraps, as the silly rubbish bin man knocked on the door " do you wanna fill this bin or what" uncouth creature, so I emptied my rubbish basket...GONE...

Ummm....so thats it really...lol...how boring am I today...I have a bit of excitement going on, and cant really concentrate...let alone spell....and I my friend is coming to stay with me for four whole days, she's coming up from Christchurch...for a break...we have not seen each other for 6 years...Txt all the time...but not visited, so should be a good few days with her...

Well thats it my friends, have a great weekend, catch you all later...

Christmas Tree tutorial

Hello Everyone,

Thank you so much for all your comments on my Christmas tree, and due to the vast amount of enquiries on how I did this [3..lol] I decided to do a tutorial.

2" punch..[or spellbinders die or nesties, work too
scissors [dont have to be pink]
glue
and a triangle [I'm using brown, only so you can see better when adding the scallops.]

Cut out a load of scallops, 8 here, but I cut out about 2 more afterwards.

Cut each scallop in half, then into quarters...when cutting in half cut from valley to valley...into quarters cut right through the middle of the mountain.

                                                                       valley cut

                                                                        mountain cut

Start layering the quarter cuts from the bottom...and try to remember [not like me]..to have the rounded edge at the edge..looks nicer.

Layer 2...you could even cut the srtaight edge off for perfection if you want.

Layer 3...but if you know me, I dont do perfection...lol...plus I had a girlfriend sitting next to me while doing this talking about her holiday on Raratonga...as if I cared...much rather be here in the snow and cold winds..middle of winter...so much more fun.

And just keep going, right up to the top...easy peasy...just with one punch..

Hope it all made sense, and you enjoyed the tute...

Thanks for stopping for a looksee, and will carch you again...probably tomorrow.

Special guest DT

Hello everyone,

I'm back, and feeling so much better...finally went to the doctor and he gave me drugs...good stuff.
The pain eased so quickly, and I buzzed around at work today, and sitting here posting away, so much more comfortable.Only 2 weeks worth and if does not improve on it's own he's going to do an x-ray or scan to see what has torn away, and why it is not healing..but today I'm HIGH...

My second guest week at Stamp Fairy  and loved every minute of it.

This week the theme for the challenge is.....

                                                  CHRISTMAS IN JULY
                                         Make it an easel.

Well, could not complain about that...love easel cards..and who better to perch on the front.. but

                                                  ' LENNY' with Christmas Bauble

He's such a little cutie, coloured with pencils and glitter added to his hat rim and bottom of his jacket, and his bauble .A tiny pom pom on the tip of his hat, now he is fully dressed for Christmas .The papers are from my last years Christmas stash, just added bling to the bauble.

                                                                         Open card

I made a little Christmas tree with a scallop punch, cut the scallops into four, and then just layered them up to the top...Added a few gem stones to make it sparkle..and yes..they are crooked..lol..and a big lush red bow.

So thats me done...my 2 weeks as Special Guest Designer all over and thank you again Gerda for having me, had a wonderful time creating with your cute images.

Surfs up!!

Hello everyone,

Managing to sit for awhile today..stupid back...I've had to stand a lot longer to craft lately, and have decided that, that is most of the problem, being tall, I'm leaning over to work, and pulling from the bottom ...up... so I'm sitting on a plush fur cushion, resting the weary muscles, with my wheat pack tucked down my trousers..lol..

Have a wee card..just for fun..

This little fellow was a freebie at Raising our kids  real lovely to colour, and have a few more up my sleeve, for later on.

Coloured with pencils and paper pieced his shorts and the boogie board.
The seagulls are actually doves, a stamp I have  and use for weddings and sympathy cards, but modified the colouring and to me... they look  like seagulls...

The sentiment is a sticker from scrapbook days, new my hoarding would come in handy.

Ok...now I have to move.. so will say farewell..and do some more commenting standing up...not easy..no wonder I am behind..but I am trying.
Will catch you all tomorrow...

Summer

Hello Everyone,

Things have been so quiet....here...there...work...play...schools holidays in NZ at the moment....and I'm redundant. Mum and Dad have been watching the boys this last week, and I'm sooo not used to the freedom.
Even my crafting is slow...so I changed my room around. Then, I  didn't like it, so put it all back.
My back is still quite sore, but not as sore as it was, and thank you all for the well wishes, I'm sure that did some good.My son bought me a wheat pack....oooo....that is good. I shove it down my trousers at home, onto my lower back, keeps my bum warm too...lol..

Have a card to show you, a purple one, which started off pink, then I found the ribbon, and the rest is history...

There she is. Tilda is sitting on a stool, but the flowers cover one side and the wee dog on the other.
Now I'm not sure if the dogs name is 'Kiki' or that is the artist, but I do know I picked it up from 'Tiddlywinks' on the net...there is no link, as it went forever, and I ran out of room.
Coloured with pencils, papers are Prima 'Sparkling Spring Collection',
The flowers look like Prima, but they are packs of 30 from Rosies studio.$4.99.Butterfly a spellbinders die, and the sentiment is a clear set, had for ages.

The photo is lot darker with the purple than it really is, thanks to winter rain, sleat, and wind,
but it's not too bad.

Well my little blogger buddies, that's it, it is 6.30pm on Friday night, time for 'Friends' another re-run,
12.. I think we are up to, but still watch a laugh...Prawn cutlets for tea, with 3 dipping sauces....yum yum.

Thank you so much to two new followers, lovely to have you here, and thank you to every one of you for your lovely comments.

I'm going to enter this card at Magnolia lovers   'Anything goes'

Cherrio..

Holidays

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick post for a challenge today, plus I dont want to sit here too long as I have hurt my lower back, and damn it hurts...stupid vaccume cleaners...made for short people...I'm 5ft 10" and these new things are
made for 4ft 10" people.....and I suppose the way I sit at the computer does not help...and the way I craft....half the time I stand and play with my cards...saves getting up and down...OK moaning minnie..get on with the post.

A freebie from Anne Fenton.

I wrote that on the letter box...lol..can you tell.

Great little image for all sorts of things.
Coloured with pencils...and my green copic..lol..papers are from Rosies studio called 'Transit'.
I cut the words off one of the sheets and matted them, and stapled them on.
Very easy quick card, and entering it in the challenge at The Secret Crafter  their theme is 'Holiday'

Thats it all done will see you tomorrow...have a surprise for you.

Special guest DT

Hello everyone,

Surprise...... two posts in one day. Pull up your chair, get comfy, and lets gets going.

I am absolutely delighted to be posting today as a special guest at Stamp Fairy
Thank you Gerda, so much, for having me.

There is a new challenge starting this week.....COLOURS  and the colours are...

                                            AQUA...MELON....KRAFT.....

I was very lucky to be given an image to play with......meet PATSY...

                                                                      Card closed

                                                                        Card open

                                                                  Close up of the fish

I chose to do an easel card, for little patsy, as had plenty of bits and bobs to add, and this gave me more room.
Coloured with pencils for her hair, copics for the skin, and paper pieced her bathing suit.
All the papers from my scraps [sounds terrible...but true] and the [kraft] is actually manilla folder again. The waves were torn papers, pale blue with spots, and the fish and coral are a 3D sticker.

Found the sentiment in one of those boxes where you hide stuff and think...one day..this was my day, and it worked spot on for me. The bucket and spade..another 3D sticker from the $2 shop, had it forever.

Well, thats my card for my special day....but I will be back next week.....as I've been asked to do 2 weeks..whoohoo..Thanks for stopping by, hope you like my card, had a great time making it.

I can give you the image for free, if you like it.

This was in the colouring freebie section on the net, my 10yr old grandaughter found it and several others, cute huh!.
I used pencils for colouring, and Bev's sky template...getting better at that..not perfect..but getting better. Made a hole in the centre of the card, and added the image so it swings free.

Soaring Love

Hello Everyone,

Today I have just a teeny story....a love story....awww.

A girlfriend of mine from waaaaay back, found herself alone, and not like me could not stand it.
So she went man searching as she put it...and after 5 years of finding nothing out there,as the good ones were taken, the other were happy....she finally found someone when she was not looking. They dated for quite awhile, and out of the blue one night he said to her..."I'm so happy, I could fly like a Pegasus"

Well, us girls talk...dont we.....and we did giggle about it [so dramatic] but she fancied him so much.

So the big ask was to make her a card to give to him, so I did, but she chose the sentiment..which was then computer made.

There he is....now I fiddled with the lighting etc, so I could show off the hair lines in his mane, tail, and his wings. I'm quite chuffed with my colouring on this one...although it looks better IRL.
Coloured with pencils, and the gorgeous papers are MIM glitter, little clouds and birds, and very sparkly.

Even found a challenge at The Paper Shelter  'for the birds' I have birds, they are just tiny...lol..

There you go that's it, may be back later.....Oooo...we just had an earthquake...now I'm all shakey..lol
Better get ready to jump under the desk...

Thanks to everyone for your wonderful comments of late, I'm trying to get to everyone, just been a tad busy, and welcome to 2 new followers, thank you for coming by, I really appreciate it.

Catch you later..

No Card

Goodmorning Everyone,

Well as the title suggests, I have no card to share today, but thought I would continue with the saga of my elderly client, as there was a bit of interest in the conclusion to the story...so here goes....

All I can say is 'The poor old Dear'

Yes she was taken to hospital after she pressed her emergency button..........she was home in 1 hour.

When I arrived yesterday, she was sitting in her usual seat, and my eyes wandered down to look at her 'bleeding veins' and she was as clean as a whistle. I never bought the subject up...just sat and smiled and waited...Eventually she said to me...'well, have you heard about the drama'...I politely responded 'no, what happened'..................................

WELL....she didn't push the button, her friend rang for the ambulance...she didn't want to go to hospital....her neighbor made her go.....and the ambulance men were not the ones that came last time...these ones had no decorum [the last time was in 2009] probably had a staff shift swap..lol..

AND...they didn't beleive me...her face dropped...and my heart cried....so naturally I told her I beleived her...and she perked up a bit. I also asked her was there a wound..."how could there be a wound if my veins were bleeding"  oop's...wrong thing to say.

We had our visit and I left with her sitting all straight backed in her chair, with a small smile.

TODAY....cleaning day.
There she was, sitting in her chair...happy to see me, had the washing machine on, bed all ready for me to make..and so I got started in my work.

OMG!!!!!!!! Went into the bedroom, made the bed, dusted, usual tripe, then I went into the bathroom, which had carpet on the floor...and there were some marks on her usually impeccable carpet.....
Went into the toilet....mmmmm....not what I wanted to see..oop's someone had an accident..cleaned up, cleaned the carpet, went back out to her ladyship, and then she told me ALL OVER AGAIN...about how the hospital didn't believe her about the bleeding....well just quietly [and remember, I was not to get close to the blood,  the other day] I now know why they didnt believe her....it was not blood...it was POO.

Well, this time she told me what they thought...what they had told her....and she was very upset about  it."but, you saw it did'nt you, what did you think"?....gulp...blood dear, quite sure it was blood.
The backbone straightened up again, and she was quite happy.

So as  long as she thinks she's had a near death experience, with bleeding veins...lol..she will be happy. Not forgetting she is 93 years old, with short term memory loss, and a tongue like a viper,

But really a darling old lady, never had children of her own, and was abandoned by her husband 50 years ago and has worked hard everyday of her life, up to her retirement, at 65, and everyday, on her own, only my company for 45mins every morning.

So I have played her game, told her she was right, agreed with her, and peace will resume...hopefully.

Thats been my last couple of days....rather entertaining, and the mystery of the bleeding veins...

                                                         SOLVED!!

Thanks for stopping by....will have a card or 2 on Friday...right now...I need to rest..tomorrow is another day......God help me...

In My Favour

Hello everyone.

The postie swung by my way today........LOOK!!

Needless to say...I sat and drooled most of the evening...this gorgeous candy arrived from Scotland from the lovely Tracey. The craft fairy was smiling down on me!!!

I had a great day yesterday...full of fun and hilarious moments.
My work can be so funny, and the elderly [God bless them] can have you in stitches with their wonderful ways, stubborn ways, funny ways, and yep!.. annoying ways.
My lady[of 7 days a week] scratched her ankle in bed with her toe nail, just a pin prick, but she nust have beld and smeared it onto her other ankle, and her shin, on her nightie etc,and when I got there she had her leg up on a stool, and was adamant that she was bleeding to death through her veins.

I put my glasses on to look, and she told me I was blowing air on her leg, dont touch it,she might start bleeding again. I tired to tell her, it was just a nick, and if I cleaned her leg up with warm water and dettol, the blood would go away and we could see the wee hole...WELL...wee hole indeed, theres no hole, its the veins...they are leaking blood.
I noticed the blood was dried and brown so had been there awhile, but, in her mind if she stood, her veins would bleed again.
This went on for my half hour, had other clients, had to go, and she said she would press the BUTTON....get the professionals in...so I left...and she did...pressed the button, they came and took her to hospital..cleaned her leg...and took her home. Oh!! dear...I have to face the music this morning, and hear all about her adventure...but I will NOT be shown the pin prick, I will be told they stopped the veins from bleeding..lol..She's a worry, I tell you.

Rightio...onto my card, which covers a few challenges..4..in fact ..surprised myself with that.

There he is...KK image, coloured with pencils, added the last of the old sack I found, leather strip tied in a loose bow, cute orange feathers with spots on them, and the tiny lizard up the top, boy, that was hard cutting out.nearly put a butterfly there, but it had to be a boy card, so I coloured the lizard and plopped him there..sentiment from the computer, font was called bamboo.leaf die cut for the lizard to sit on.

Challenges I would like to enter are:
Sir stamp alot   [anything goes]
do it with digis  [spots or stripes]
Kenny K   [anything goes]
Ladybug crafts  [summer birthdays]

Done with minimal confusion, so ready for a new day...more lectures...more cleaning...

Have a wonderful day/evening, and I will see you all soon.
