WEIRD AND WHIMSICAL WITH LACY SUNSHINE..

Hello Everyone...

Long face today...Monday tomorrow and I have to go back to work..I DO want to..and I don't want to..cant wait till I retire now..have the taste for staying at home and just playing..staying in my jammies till whenever..eating at silly o'clock because I can..and having breakfast for lunch and lunch for tea.[.sigh]...dream on girl..you have to work for awhile yet..

Okay...not Monday yet...today is Sunday and there is a new challenge starting up at Lacy Sunshine
and this time we have..WEIRD AND WHIMSICAL.. using darker colours..no pastels.

I must say, this threw me a bit, but once I got going it all came to plan..sort of.

Here is my [and I say this loosely] Canvas..which is really a piece of cardboard cut off an old biscuit box that I bring my grocery shopping home in...

So we started of with Gesso...black and silver paint swished into the middle...added some silver embossed mushrooms which did not stamp too well, but they are there..under the  memory box trees cut in black..and squiggled silver and blue fabric paint around the  edges..

The came the giant dragonfly, who flies around the dark forest looking fairly ominous..wouldn't like him tangled in my hair.

And out of all that darkness comes this little cutie..Shanna Unicorn Girl ..from the Lacy Sunshine Store ..

Not too scary after all..Shanna is coloured with my Reno Markers and added glossy accents to her eyes..fussy cut her out and popped up on foam squares and hot glued as she kept falling off.

So there we go...our new challenge WEIRD AND WHIMSICAL...hope you can join in..

Challenges to enter....

Thanks so much for stopping by...better go and get things ready for work tomorrow and then lamb chops for tea..yum!!..with mint sauce and gravy...yummier!!

See you tomorrow.

luv CHRISSYxx

Fabulous background, it looks quite eerie! Wish you hadn't put the thought of giant dragonflies tangled in hair in my head...quite glad you lightened up the canvas with that cute image, might have had nightmares else! Another fabulous creation Chrissy.
Glad you have enjoyed your holidays...shame they fly past so quickly...but your lady will be delighted that you are back!

Brilliant 'canvas' Chrissy. The toadstools are so cute but Shanna steals the show for me. Great design. I retired a few years ago and I am busier now!! All my own choosing though! Hugs, Carol S.xx

Ooh, what a lovely dark mysterious forest - a perfect setting for your fantastical dragonfly and unicorn girl. Love how you achieved the silvery moonlit look, and what a perfect use of those fabulous trees.

That is one tricky theme and if I say you nailed it I hope that's ok...I'm not saying your canvas is strange weird...more like kind of spooky weird! Oh, let's just say I love it, that's easier!
All those fab textures and deep colours are lovely, and what a great choice of image to use..she is adorable :-)

Big hugs, Kat xx

Ahhh Chrissy, you sound just like me... want to go to work and then don't. Retiring sort of scares me to not have the focus of the job to go to but I think about retirement more and more so when the time is right, I will do it. In the meantime, I can talk about how busy I am... hahahahah!
I like this canvas and all the textures you added. That pretty blue paste on the side is quite pretty and I like those trees. What I really like is that it's not too spooky and not too weird. The trees and silver swish do add sort of an ethereal quality to it though, catches your attention and makes you look closer.
