SEA TURTLES CANVAS

Hello Everyone..

Today is Tuesday and I had a much better day at work...so I'm over the Monday blues.

Today I'm sharing a canvas...under the sea, with Sea Turtles..

Green and blue paint painted over Gesso..and then stencilled with modelling paste to make some textured bubbles..

The bottom of the sea bed was stencilled with a swirly stencil after adding green paint to the paste..then loaded up with gems,beads,pearls and micro beads which were really for finger nails from Avon...had them forever.

Using two lids off a glue pen and stickles, I dipped them into white paint and made the circles, then added silver rings from my stash..

There's a shot of the Turtles which I bought from the local book shop..and been waiting to use them for ages.

CHRISTMAS FOR MEN..

Hello Everyone..

Oh!..it is only Monday..I thought it was at least Wednesday..I'm tired already..lol..

Was going to say it has been a long week, but as it is only Monday, it must have been a rough weekend...I had to work and it was my big weekend, so really I have worked nearly a week...and I'm wafting.....

Today I'm sharing a few male Christmas cards...I love male cards for some reason..

Picture of a Deer in the snow off the net..no designer papers, just navy card and corrugated card...

Splatterings of white paint for extra snow....and white corrugated snowflakes.

Glitter and sentiment, a clear stamp from Kaiser..

Next up....horses in the snow, another internet find..with a Marianne creatables fence and MB pine tree branch...

More white paint splatters and brown corrugated card.

White embossed sentiment stamp...no Design papers..just some torn vellum..

So there were only 2 cards after all..

DAY OFF TOMORROW..

Hello everyone..

Yes, my day off tomorrow..hard to believe that Friday is coming so quick..but lovely to know I have a day off and can play all day if I want to...after I've cleaned up the place and done some grocery shopping..all the yucky stuff.

I found a few challenges to join in with, so made a little canvas..

I spent ages cutting and sticking die cut leaves down onto the canvas..then added so much more stuff you can barely see them..but they're there...somewhere...under the added mesh....then coloured up with Gelatos...love those things and going to get some more colours soon...

The black corners is a stencil..the left one, the paste was too thin and it bled, then I remembered you can had talcum powder to thicken the paste, so I did and the other side came out much better...

I sprinkled black glitter on them while wet and the sparkle is so pretty IRL..

The mushrooms were a freebie picture..printed them different sizes, coloured and fussy cut them out..

The leaves along the bottom from my Aussie friend and coloured them with copics and paint.

The beautiful silhouette Fairy from Pia..and I glittered up her wings.. the sentiment off the net..

And that is all she said..

GDT FOR CRAFTYBOOTS - MONOCHROME

Hello Everyone..

I'm so delighted to be here sharing a project as a Guest Designer for Crafty Boots ..this is a mid way post for their monthly challenge where the theme is..MONOCHROME...

I know!..I hear what you are saying..but there are so many shades of the one colour out there..just nosey through your craft room and you will so pleasantly surprised at how many things you can find in the shades of one colour..

All my canvas is, is all the things I didn't know I had and put them all on a tray and started glueing down..and the  main colour I wanted to use was ORANGE..

I had this picture for awhile and wanted to use it...so hunted through my stash and this is only half of the colour orange I had floating around...

I cheated a little bit with the buttons on the sides, but it is sort of from the same family of oranges..if you squint a bit it is..

A lot of corrugated card [old box] and wooden feathers with little toggle thingys..lace and pearls...loads of different orange flowers..strips of mesh..AND paint..lots of paint.

MID WAY INSPIRATION FOR WHERE THE heART IS..

Hello everyone..

Half way through our new monthly Mixed Media challenge at Where the heART is  with the theme " Add Text"..

Now you really don't have to do mixed media if you are not comfortable with it..and you can enter cards and anything you want really..just go for it..fabulous sponsors too..

My inspiration piece for our midway reminder is another canvas...using a photo of my G/kids taking a flying leap into the unknown..

Such great happy kids...some brave to tuck the legs up.. one..not too sure..but she has such long legs to tuck up anyway..

 

 

Lots of netting, mesh, butterflies , and flowers and of course corrugated card...not happy unless I'm cutting up boxes...

So there we go..go get all painty and messy and rip some boxes up and go for it..so much fun..

FRIDAY...MY DAY OFF..

Hello Everyone...

Yes, today is Friday and I have had the day off..and it was just lovely..
I didn't clean the house..I didn't clean the car..I didn't clean anything..made my bed and straight into my craft space and played nearly all day..

The project to share today I didn't make in one day..took about a week I suppose waiting for glue to dry and paint to dry..then the mind went blank and I had to think a bit..but at the end I was happy..

A masculine canvas...

It started off with a disaster..all the bubble wrap I glued on held onto the paint and glue and it swelled up so much I didn't know what to do with it...so it sat on the other side of the room for 2 weeks..lol..

Then I cut up toilet rolls and a lunch wrap roll and glued them on..I don't know where I was going just yet...

Then I found Charlie Chaplin while surfing the net and I love Charlie Chaplin...and so it began.

I forgot to take some photos so this it the side view after I painted the rolls black and added copper and gold paint..

I filled some of the rolls with glue and threw in screws..washers..picture hooks and a couple of bolts...they took forever to dry..then painted with gold and copper paint again..and brushed the paint over the rest of the canvas to bring out the texture that was there...

Added Charlie and his quote..he was fussy cut out and also a chipboard key...

A BEE ON A BROOM - WITH DIGITAL DELIGHTS

Hello Everyone...

I have been slack again with my posts, I know, but I just don't know where the week has gone.

I have been very busy in craft space, but cannot show you yet and still have a bit to do on my monster project and with work and G/kids..I don't know, the weeks are just flying by..

But today is Thursday, and time to share some inspiration using a gorgeous cute image from the
DIGITAL DELIGHTS STORE  .,.

The little cutie is called BEE AFRAID ..

All coloured up with Reno Art Markers...Faber Castell pencils for shading and an eyeshadow background...her wings glittered up  with kindy glitz [stickles]..

I used modelling paste and a stencil for the honeycomb background..no papers on this one.

FOR THE LADIES...

Hello Everyone..


The last day of my level two's course was today and I'm so glad that is over...all this homework breaks into my crafting time...just not good enough..lol..

Time for ladies again today..a few cards I made using pictures off the net and lots of layers...

Most of the cardstock from out of my scrap box..

Birds on the branches from WOC and the tiny roses too...

All layers of card were distressed with my scissors...not sure if I used papers or not...cant see them anymore...

I love this picture of the girl with the horse...sort of peaceful and soft..

Added a doily and again distressed the edges and layered it all up...with flowers and pearls and a bit if lace..

And the lovely lady with her bike ..paper scraps corrugated card and flowers...distressed  edges and layers...

All these cards were sold...and orders for more, so that made me real happy..

LETS GET STARTED..NEW CHALLENGE ON THE BLOCK..

Hello Everyone..

The day has come and time to get started on a new challenge at Where the heART is  a new challenge blog all about MIXED MEDIA...canvases...cards...bottles...anything you like can have mixed media added to it...and it sooo relaxing...

Our theme for this month is ..."USE SOME TXT "

This is my effort using an image from our Sponsor...The Chubby Mermaid  ...

The image, I would say is an adult colouring page.. lots of swirls and details and not too sure where I going..

The canvas was painted and I added modelling pasted with stencils..paint splatterings...cheery lynn swirls and flowers with buttons..and silver hearts..

Here's another shot...the background of the image was so white and just couldn't get it to sink into the canvas, so coloured behind the butterfly with eyeshadow...the only thing that didn't make the colours bleed.

Added gems to the tail, and about three thousand buttons around as a frame..well, not really three thousand but felt like it by the time I was satisfied.

S P O O K Y !!. WITH DIGITALS DELIGHTS..

Hello Everyone...

Hope everyone is well and happy on this Delightful Thursday with Digital Delights ..and as it is the first Thursday of the month I'm here with the rest of my fabulous team to share our new releases...

I coloured on water paper again using my water paints and made a scene...a Halloween scene..

The cute little image is called Kandi Kid Bat Cat  and the scene created behind her is this fabulous set called... Spooky Silhouettes Set  ..

Isn't it a super set with ..the spooky house..bats...cat...pumpkins...and that fabulous big moon in the background...very cool.

I added yellow gems to the cats eyes..and glitter on Kandi Kids bow and shoes..[ just to make her less scary]

Here is a view with that creepy spider with his googly eyes on his wire hanging over the house...

And the spooky house all lit up in the windows with an eerie glow..

For the sky I just used a dry brush with navy,grey and black paint and just swept over the paper from left to right, then right to left..and quite pleased with it...

I fussy cut all the images..except the house as that was the background, but all the others were coloured with copics and then fussy cut..

So there we go..a Halloween project for this week..hope you didn't get too scared..
