Hello everyone,

Today is the anniversary of my husbands parting...4 years ago today, he died in my arms after a long hard illness....he battled for 5 years when given 3 months to live, he defied all the odds...astounded the medical profession, and never complained...RIP Dave..oxox

And on a happier note, today is my daughters Birthday...my baby girl...over the hill I tell her..lol..and we will be partying tomorrow night as we both have the day off from work, couldn't have worked out better.

I have already shared the card I'm giving her so have this little cutie that I made last night...

Hello Everyone,

I had to really ask myself what today was when I woke up this morning..Thursday, today is Thursday.
cleaning day at you know who's...and of course it has to be raining...so washing in the garage...is the washing in the garage....you did put the washing in the garage didn't you...hope the sheets are not outside as it is raining, are they in the garage...and so it will go on.....lol...
Yesterday, we had the conversation of when I'm going away...June...I said, for 7 days [big sigh]...oh!, not till June, thats a long way off, yes it is, do not worry about it, no I wont, but when are you going away, thats what I was worrying about..[.ahhh dear, dear lady] roll on June...lol..hope this affliction is not catching...

A big Happy Hello Everyone,

Although the stress of all this made me dizzy, or more dizzier than usual, I'm sorted thanks to Ali....and thank you everyone for your help, advise,and concern.

If anyone needs a detailed notice on how to clean your PC up, just flick me an email and I will forward the info to you.

Oh, bliss, I am down to only 50% usuage now, and still cleaning off photos.

So now with my new found space, I can show you this cute card using an image from Crafty Sentiments Designs

Oh! dear....I will when I can find it....I think I may have deleted it too....not to worry, I will wait for the sun to come up and take another photo..lol..

There he is...I had deleted him as he was in a folder, and the sun is barely up so he is a bit dark...

Coloured with pencils and papers are Crafters choice"country basics"...

Very simple card...I cut his head out twice and put foam dots behind...glittered his feet and tail,gems on his [horns??]...whatever those knobs are on his head...

Some spots for shading, and gluey buttons....why dont I see this glue when I'm making the card is beyond me...I take photos and there's the glue...I even tied some string through the buttons using all my thumbs...as I dont think I have many fingers, mostly all thumbs.

So there you go, finally back to normal or as normal as my life is....with a dear sweet lady asking me what happened to 'the dress'....I explained that she didnt like it so will never wear it again, and she was devastated that I thought she said that...she would never say things like that...yea right...so I apologised to her, and said it must have been someone else...and if this digital stuff does not happen soon I will go insane ....she is going to loose her TV reception in September if she does not changed to digital, and I hear it everyday..'.we have till September you know.'.I'm trying to get her to do it now, as there will be a giant waiting list by September.....but she wont budge..so be it.....

Off to work soon, boys on their way, going to be a good day, not a cloud in the sky, but threatening to be pouring tomorrow...yay...wash day..but you cant get the leopard to change his spots or her wash day..

Problem

Hello everyone,

I have a problem..I cannot load pictures on my blog,or sidebar...apparently I've used up all my space,and cant follow simple instructions to delete stuff. I'm 100% usuage in 'pisaca albums' whatever that is!!

So until I get someone here with a computor for a brain, I wont be doing much.

But at least I can catch up on commenting...blogger tells me I have to buy more storage...$$$...

I will get a man in..see if he can show me what to do...

Have a great day/evening...lol...I only have 9 cards to share and cant...grrr...DT's will be screaming soon....I'm doing my best.

Fairy time for MIM

Hello Everyone,

What a great weekend, didn't do much...went to see 'My Lady' Sat & Sun morning....wore a dress.
I dont do dresses very often but had an urge, and she prattled about it for ages...but then she said,"I dont like it very much, but you do look striking"....talk about mixed feelings, so I loooked striking in an ugly dress....thats different....lol..
Her clock had almost stopped in the kitchen, and she couldn't WIND it up....so I suggested that I put a new battery in it....well I'm just so clever to think of that....but I had to put it 2 mins slower than the bedroom....because by the time she left the bedroom and reached the kitchen the time would be the same.
And my kids say to me..."Why do you get so tired"....if my brain ever starts to get that bad...please...shoot me!!

So the weekend has passed in a flash...Rod Stewart was here Saturday night singing his heart out...I didn't go..it rained and turned to the South which is cold....but when the night was still, you could hear, every now and then, the crowds cheering....was told it was a brilliant outdoor concert.

Coloured with Faber Castell pencils and very glittery wings...added gems to her dress and tassles.
Butterfly and ribbon from Vicky's candy, flowers from woc,and my stash.

The tiny pink heart down the bottom is from a childs jewelery playset, and I stuck a flower in the middle of it...as it was a bit ragged around the inside edge..

Side view of the open card..yes!!... I stuck it on with the opening at the side by mistake, but it worked as I had not done the inside at that stage...phew.

And of course I picked a favourite this week.....

A waterfall card made by #77 Indira you cannot see it working, but love the waterfall cards, have not made one for ages...pull the bottom tag and the little squares flip..very clever..and my favourite colour too...

This little sweetheart is "LINDA" [Linda-spring 1] from Stampfairy

Aww..so cute. I love this card...might have to send it to myself ....

Coloured with my Faber Castell pencils...paper pieced her dress and bow, used copics for the grass and the shading around the image...

Close up of Linda....and the flowers, as I made the Lemon yellow vellum flower with the DP in the centre and a yellow brad...the roses from our local emporium..

A side view...the inside all nice and tidy too...matching butterfly and a curly wurly wire..??

Hello Everyone,

It is very early on a Friday morning...dark....5.45am to be exact...the season is changing, moving on to Autumn...no pictures outside now as it is still dark,and at late afternoon the winds come up and my cards blow away...so time to move on to the table inside...

There he is..a cute little Panda Bear,and the dreaded black pencil colouring...but not too bad, black pencils have the inclination to go grey or dirty, so this took a while.

This bear was a freebie from Kathie at Bearywishes, and he is still there...with a coloured image to copy the colouring. Papers were a freebie too...

The little flowers, I found moons ago, and used once, but found them just right to sit on my Cheery Lyn swirl....ribbon from my stash.
Coloured the flowers that the bear is holding with copics.

Going to enter this in a challenge with his faux stitching at Ready-Teddy-Go and I really was going to do actual sewing but forgot and added the faux at the last minute....

Will be back tonight with some cuteness to show you from Stampfairy...but right now I need to get ready for work, have the boys coming this morning, and then I want get around some more and see what you have been up to.

Have another sweet girl to share with you....from Crafty Sentiments Designs

This is "Rosey"...a very sweet little girl, that could be used for many occassions.
Gorgeous paper is from 'Crate paper 6x6 pad' that I forgot I had...and so love it."Portrait collection"

Coloured her with Faber Castell pencils,added flowers and some I made myself as didn't have the colours I wanted..added sparkle on the flowers..

Side view...what a shame you only get two squares of paper for each pattern...why did I not scan it first??..oh!..thats right, my son played with my computer and now the scan wont work....ratbag..

My chair has lost some gas in it..and I have been slowly sinking down..lol...now I can hardly see the keypad....I'm up again, only takes 1 second to boost it up, but I get so into what I'm doing I just...sink!!

Thats me done for today....another day at the office....'My Lady' told me not to forget it is cleaning day today[Thursday]...No I wont forget [2 years now...7 days week....think I'll remember]...but dont wear those pants again...you cant do good work with BLACK pants on....how are you going to bend??

I'm not sure how colour has to do with me bending...they are elastic waitsed stretch pants...lo...

I'm back to share another new release image Annabel the Mermaid ...from Crafty Sentiment Designs.
"Love and Romance collection"...and hopefully a bit more inspiration to join our monthly challenge...

Coloured with pencils and loads of flowers...one of those cards when you tell yourself....stop...but keep going...a tiny shell from the beach and added a pearl...andmade some scallop shells with card stoch, embossed lines, then inked lightly....a tiny anchor charm, very tiny silver flower beads and pearls.Also put tulle behind the image...

Sprinkled pearls in Annabels hair...and forgot to glitter her tail..lol...

This is how light my pictures go in the sun....normally photograph about 6am when still dull...because it is not this pale.

Never mind, it is what it is, and still pretty....

Wings and a birdcage

Hello Everyone,

I has such a stressful hard day yesterday...I'm such a worry wart, and really no need to be.
I was given a new client..male..53..who has been through 2 caregivers already and complains about everything....my bosses were having a meeting about things and my name kept coming up in the conversation....so they rang me and asked if I would take him on...I love a challenge and plus needed the extra in my pay, so agreed....the only problem, I worried about going all morning...but really..there was no need...we got on fine....small place but strange...and loads of dishes, which I was pre-warned about...very clean man....but just lacking the womans touch....and he was impressed that I shook his mats and laid them in the sun.....I just didn't tell him that it was only to kill time as they gave me 2 hours to do all my bits and I finished early.

So that was my stressful day over, I went home and flopped down for 10 mins with my dog'Harry' and we had a chat,I told him about my day and he told me about his [which was sleeping] and that was that.,,

Coloured with pencils, and then fussy cut out, this is a freebie, and so sorry not sure where from...and the lovely birdcage I bought when I went away to a craft show...tiny puched butterflies with pearls on their spine.

Her wings were multi coloured and then glittered with clear [stickles -kindy glitz]...

Lots of flowers on the paper from Prima "Sweetfairy Collection" and then more flowers from WOC and stash...
Now I have to find the link for the challenge as the one I have does not want to play so will add later when I find it...

Time to get ready for work...just my usual schedule today..so should be stress free...depending on
"My Lady"...she was not impressed with my pants yesterday...BLACK....you dont wear BLACK...you always look so nice and you are wearing BLACK...I thought black pants and pale blue shirt looked very nice.....but she didn't...lol..

Hollywood or bust

Tuesday morning...all is well, but last night Napier had an earthquake...never felt or heard a thing, was snoozing too deep...but I think that was what disturbed 'Harry'...he was whinning at some dark hour to go out, and I staggered down the hall, opened the door and let him out....left the door open for him..and flopped back into bed...so I didn't no anything till I turned MSN news on and there it was...No damage reports, so that's good.

Coloured with Faber Castell pencils, and lots of sparkle on her gloves, glasses, and socks...

The film strip, I printed onto accetate and was a freebie from Carmen It just didn't want to dry, so cut another strip to put behind it...stars with my star punch, and the papers have a velvet feel to the spots from Kaisercraft.."Le Chateau"..a few pink gems and cuttlebug corner dies...

Twittering for MIM

Hello Everyone,

Went to afternoon tea on Friday at the school, with my daughter, and we walked into the classroom, my G/son looked up ,and said a big" Hi! Mum"...and then saw me and yelled " NANAAA!!" I was so chuffed....he was a happy camper for sure....his whole class had been doing experiments and making rocket fuel cars...from scratch, and TJ and his partner had 2 coke bottles taped together, with plastic milk bottle tops for wheels, on very wonky axels, filled the bottles half way with white vinegar, added baking soda wrapped in paper towels, qickly put the tops on the bottles, shook them up, put them on the ground , and the chemicals mixed together caused pressure in the bottles and they blew the lids off and the 'car' they made should have shot forward....but instead...the car stayed exactly where it was, but the lids blew off and went right across the quad...lol..they at least thought it was funny, where as some kids started crying cause theirs didn't work....but it was a lovely afternoon with cups of warm tea!!![I think it was tea]...and biscuits.

It's Fairy time

Hello Everyone,

Didn't expect me on a Sunday did you?....I didn't expect me either, but had a great day colouring yesterday, and building up cards last night, so thought I would share one this morning....

I used the 'Summer Fairies" stamp again from Pergamano...and added the little birds from the same set.
Coloured with pencils, sponge inked my sky, and the papers were from my candy win from 'Lisa'.

Yes, we had a lovely sunny day yesterday...hence a few shadows....finally worked the spellbinders butterfly out...dont remember ever putting it through again and embossing it...never thought about until I saw it on someones blog,and it certainly made a difference, so layered this one up 3 times.
So what I thought was a boring butterfly ...why did I buy it, kind of feeling, has now made me happy...

There you can see the dimension...and all the butterflies wings...the card has actually come out quite pink, but here on my desk it is lavender.

He's still standing...had to keep saying to myself...he is only 7....and replied to him..."not quite"...the lady standing next to us smiled...lucky for her it was a nice smile...

Tis' Friday

Hello Everyone,

Tis' Friday...yay...been a hard week...one more day with a rock tied round my ankle and then I'm free for two whole days....

Went to my 'young mans' yesterday...cleaned his doors and frames,and up in the stair well....talk about spider webs...there is only so much time you are given to do these jobs, and it is good to get all these other chores done, so we are nearly there...will make my life easier when it is all finished and I can go in and do a regular normal clean...he's so lovely though and gave me some Baileys chocolates...I must have had such a look on my face, he started shaking his hands and saying...no,,no,,not like that, no strings attached....... you're too old!!.....charmed I'm sure...but I knew what he mean't...I think..lol..

Onto a card to share with you, another one sitting waiting but knew it was there as I made it for a DT card, but used another one, so this was just waiting for a challenge and one at Cute card Thursday popped up...flower power..

Have an afternoon tea party at school today for my yougest G/son...he does not know that I'm going....he doesn't know his Mum has taken the afternoon off to be there too, so it should be a lovely day for all...

Found it!!

Hello Everyone,

Another day as begun this side of the world....it is 6am..Thursday morning..and still dark...the season is starting to change and we are starting to head toward Autumn.

The days can still get very hot, but cools down at night, and darker in the morning.Still on daylight saving time, so really it is only 5am, and this will stretch out for another month yet...I dont do daylight saving very much, throws my body clock out.....but you have no choice do you, otherwise you would be the only person in the country to go to work 1 hour behind everyone else....speaking of behind everyone else......I found this card in my files and completely forgot about him....I always enter the challenge at Ready-Teddy-Go and thought I had popped this one over there, but I hadn't.

Cute Teddy bear from Spyder[Lyn] coloured with pencils and mounted on foam dots onto cloud papers [freebie from Bird[marie]..mounted again on foam dots, onto white scallop circle die, and mounted again onto card base...left my sticky tape at my daughters so had to use foam dots for the whole card..lol..

Added faux stitching [stitching being the requirements for the challenge] and added black floss for the balloon string..

PC for the sentiment...and a bit late for Valentine, but could be a 'because 'card..

There you go...all done,have been pottering around on the computer [I know, very dangerous for me to do that]...and trying to come up with a new plan for the freebies I collect....I usually write them down with the link with brief discription, but my writing can get very scratchy, and slope down hill, and then the whole thing just looks untidy.

So I've tried, and transferred to 'word.'..link, name,image, etc...now just have to remember to go there and get them when posting..lol...but knowing me, I will stick to my clipboard with 36 sheets of freebie links, scratchy, down hill writing and hope for the best...

I'm off to work, got a big load today, filling in for staff, and have to start new clients...another 93 yr old.[shudder-grimmace]....who is thinking about going into a home...for the last 3 years..bless her.

This one stands up

Hello Everyone,

Thank goodness this card stands up...yesterdays card finally did stand up with a bit of persuasion..the front panel was just so thick and heavy it kept coming forward...lol..

Today at work my young man and I were chatting, and he was asking what will happen to me when his time for help runs out...and I explained....not a lot...I just have to wait till another one registers and I go from there, so he has asked me to stay..once a week, so that was really good,I said yes.He only lives around the corner from me and the money will be handy.

Today I have a card to share with you, that I made on the weekend...

I used a freebie image from 'Bugaboo' and a little fairy coloured and cut out from a stamp set called 'Pergamano' Summer Fairies..and this was in my candy win from Dora a hole sheet of clear stamps 4 fairies and tiny birds and ohter little animals...really cute, thanks Dora.

Coloured with pencils and a few Memento pens, and a white gel pen...inked my sky with a sponge and used my template.added glitter to her wings and ladybugs spots.

Not sure why there is no side view...but it is dimensional.
Paper is Prima - 'Sweetfairy'....some half pearls in the corners,and lovely organza ribbon, and thats it really.

Lots of Love

Hello Everyone,

Well, I suppose this is a funny thing to say, but we had a lovely time at the funeral of my Uncle.
Met a cousin from overseas who has only just come home...sold his business and only been here for 3 days, so he was branded as bad luck...another cousin, she and her husband arrived from up North, came and gave me a big hug and asked me who she was..................I guessed straight away, she has not changed one bit.
And as usual the promises were made...lets keep in touch, lets not wait for funerals...bla bla bla...but all said with the best intentions...

My Lady has been very good lately...nothing has happened that has not happened in the past...but she did graze her elbow...somehow...and was sure it was because of her blood...but after a lengthy discussion and gentle probing to see if it hurt...she beleived me that it was a graze...I applied ointment and a band aid...but no fairy kiss...thats going too far...and we continued our day.

Still going to my 'Young Man'...today in fact, but the hours have dropped to 2 a week, as the place is sort of tip top..and he is trying to keep it like that, even attempts to make his bed in the morning.
He likes to show visitors how shiney his kettle is....small things eh!!

Coloured with my pencils...papers from Kaisercraft 'Nan's favourites - marmalade'...had this sheet for ages and never had the right image to use it...

Had this gorgeous Mo Manning image too, the first I ever bought, but the season changed and never used it either....
Spellbinders heart, then embossed with swiss dots folder, lace doily and a tiny strawberry button, which I finally managed to tie a bow with some string....must have lost a thumb and grown a finger at long last...

Close up of image....I actually bought some glossy accents...the real stuff, and glossed up her strawberries.

and I have made a card to share with an image from the new release 'Love Collection' called
'Gypsy Heart'...

Coloured with pencils, and added all sorts of coloured gems, and draped pearls around the card.
Papers were from my stash...

Made the sentiment on the PC...did not check the spelling so it is either wrong, or not...but you get the drift...

A new and really gorgeous release from Stampfairy meet Barry Bee 1...

Now there is a different approach to Valentines...a Bumble Bear...with black beads on his feelers.

A close up of image..coloured wth pencils and copics for grass...
No DT papers again, just yellow and black cardstock....flowers are from my stash, except the white with yellow centre ones...I made them with vellum...MS leaves and tiny bows from my bow box..

AND....I made it sideways [by accident]....but I like it...it balances on the fence better.

The sentiment is the freebie this week....

For a Loved one - Fussy and Fancy

A new challenge has begun at Fussy and Fancy a card for "A Loved One"...

My card to share is very similar to a few days ago....yep....this was supposed to be the Christmas card....but I'm very happy with it just the way it is....and fitted in perfectly for this challenge..and my DT card....

There is sweet Barry 4 ...from the Barrylove collection from Stampfairy...and a freebie from Carmen little birds holding the banner.

My message will go inside at a later date...cause it's a secret.........

Coloured with pencils, added glitter and silver foil hearts with my cuttlebug die.
Cut my corners all fancy again using the 1" circle punch back to front.

Was going to post this morning, but time was against me, the boys arrived ready for school,and it was "Harry's" Birthday...8 years old..awww...[.and I forgot] time just slipped by....

Never mind, I'm here now and this is another gorgeous image to share from Scrapbook Stamp Society by artist Heather Valentin...

Emily rainy day...

Coloured with Faber Castell pencils and copics..no DP again just corrugated card, and an accetate cover held together with brads.
Used oval pale blue beads on the raindrops for dimension.

And then...I needed to play....Yep...I sprayed it with water while photographing it...just for fun..

There she is...all wet and blurry...

Now this one did not look so blurry...but I forgot to rinse the bottle and she ended up frothy...but the picture looks more clear...

Fun and games at my house..lol..

Hello Everyone

Have a real beauty to share today from artist Morgan Fitzsimons from Scrapbook Stamp Society

Image is 'Cameo 8'...coloured with Faber Castell pencils...no DP's just silver.. teal..and black cardstock.

So beautiful to colour, just never coloured that much skin before...love the feathers in her hair, and added tiny pearls for interest.

The beautiful butterfly was from my candy win from Dora thanks Dora, just waited for the perfect image and this one was definitely it...

The gorgeous thin strips of ribbon from Claires fabulous candy, matched perfectly with the card stock. [I know...I have been so lucky with candy wins, so thankful too...]

So there is my lovely lady in all her glory....thanks for stopping by and all the wonderful comments you leave...really makes my day......

We have rain today, and I mean RAIN...all those delightful curls I work so hard to get rid of are springing up all over the place...I will be a real fuzz ball by the time I get home tonight.

My g/sons have their first night at Cubs and Keas tonight...so that should be fun for them...get them away from those silly games [that I am useless at..].and doing something constructive...they have 3 weeks trial before Mum & Dad fork out for uniforms...so it will be Mac Cheese tonight as I am the cook..again...and we need something quick and easy before we go...

I'm back with a card supporting a challenge over at DIGITAL TUESDAY with the theme....Red and or Pink....and their sponsor is STAMPFAIRY and I used this cute freebie image from Stampfairy from the Love/Valentine collection and used RED...

This is Barry Love....

Image coloured with pencils...the heart was paper pieced that Barry is peaking through,then glittered.
Cut the inside of the heart out and added netting behind....loads of cuttlebug hearts,all sizes, solids and frames, and my gorgeous Marianne design creatables die, split in two to frame the image.

Theres a side view...beautifully balanced on my fence, on a very sunny day...at least 2 weeks ago....those days are numbered... as the sunny days are changing so quickly...

One for the Boys!!

Hello Everyone,

New day, new card....One for the Boys for Crafty Ribbons challenge and could not resist this image from Kenny K...'Victory Kid'...

Coloured with pencils, and paper pieced his pants and hat....which then left his eyebrows on top of his hat...lol...

The sentiment stamp is from Ladybug Crafts...love these stamps, so sticky and you can manipulate them into a shape.....

Did some distressing on this one, and added a gorgeous lime green ribbon, love this colour...papers are wrapping paper, and background card is manilla folder..all decorated inside,with a sentiment, and ready for the post,to a Birthday boy of one my girlfriends.

There you go, all done, have the G/daughters this morning....moving day for them, well, their mother at least, I'm doing the school run, then off to work.Great to have these two back in Napier where their Dad is....and me.....where they belong..

For my card this week I was given this little cutie to play with 'Deacon Bugs" from 'Bugaboo"

My G/sons love catching bugs and things[so do I ] and we feed their frog....who lives inside in a tank.

My image is coloured with pencils, and I paper pieced his shirt, inked my sky, and a few copic colours on the flowers and ladybugs.

Now this week I have picked my favourite for 2 reasons.....one because this lovely lady cuts out all her shapes by hand, and she is new to blogland, needs some blog love her way ,her card she shows, she a previously done, and re-vamped it from all the little things she has learned by following us all.....

I think this is such a cute card by #128 MANDERLY all those tiny embellshments she cuts by hand...fabulous job Manderly...

Blond Land

Hello Everyone,

In blond land.. [thats where I am living at the moment]..I saw a challenge called ABC Challenge and thought...Oh! I love bears...so decided to play....found my cute image, coloured it,fluffed about, made the card, photographed it, then I thought...what am I missing??????Well, you will find out on Friday, as it was totally off track, as I made a Valentine card...NOT Christmas, and totally unchangeable...so had to whip this one up, which is nearly the same, but with a Christmas theme. [twice I've done this now]..

So there is my bear 'Barry Countdown to christmas 5 from Stampfairy...and a freebie birds with a banner from Sans designs...'love bunting'.coloured with pencils...

little bits closer, photographed ar 6.30am this morning, as I had not done that either, and you cannot post pictures when you have not photographed them..duh!!

Added silver foil card behind image,and four little star brads,papers from 'forever friends pad'..very cute tree...lace....embossed the panel of green card where Barry is sitting...and now I need to rest, my brain is hurting...lol...

I'm sure I will get over this, but with my computer doing silly things, getting the wrong cards made, missing challenges, posting on wrong challenge....my head seems to be in the clouds lately...I handled four kids easy last year....what changed??.........Oh! right...they are older...more cunning....louder....harder to amuse....mouthy [fixed that quick smart]...or is it me who is getting older.....

Hello Everyone,

What a horrible 3 days I've had....my computer when slow....real slow....I could not see all your gorgeous cards, I couldn't comment or post....I was mortified...then my son said ring Telecom it is your broadband connection....so I did....and the nice lady told me that I had used all my usage space....WHAT!!
10gig gone in a month...how on earth was that possible!!

Well, it was possible, and I had used it all, and dropped back to dial up..ugh!! it was shocking...so I had to buy 10 more gig to boost me up, and this morning[Saturday] I'm up and running...so I'm sorry I have not been to see you, but will spend this morning and try to get round everyone after work...

But on the bright side, I have a card to share from the new release from STAMPFAIRY...

Meet Molly...from the Molly and Sam -Love-3 collection

I have paper pieced her dress and made all my own flowers...and the gorgeous ring is the freebie, and I used gold gel pen to colour the band and added glitter on the diamond. The sentiment is a freebie from Stampfairy too.

Coloured with Faber Castell pencils...and finally made my image fit my circle die...yay...

A side view, decorated inside, and love my flowers and the sore fingers were worth it.

Need to share my nightmare

Well, I wasn't dreaming to have my nightmare...I decided to enter a challenge....but as usual, me beeing in a rush or just not reading, I forgot to follow the sketch, but did the paper piecing, but only after I had coloured this little lass up...
My first time with pro markers...except for her hair...then cut her fringe off trying to cut with blunt wrecked scissors [now have new ones] then paper pieced her already coloured trousers...made the card all pretty and was going to enter her in the challenge...and discovered I had to follow a sketch as well....I give up...my first Sugar Nellie image "Cassies Rendezvous" that I won in a blog hop....oh! and the flowers, made them up from my box of flowers, in the morning I looked at them and one was green, not blue...well I nearly binned the card by then, but I didn't and here she is...

Cute as a bug on a rug

Back to share another gorgeous image from scrapbook stamp society by artist Heather Valentin...

This little pet is called "cute as a ladybug" and can be purchased from Scrapbook stamp society ..just scroll down to promoted products.

No designer papers...no papers at all, just red and black card stock...coloured with Faber Castell pencils, added glitter and beautiful silver hearts...gems on the end of her feelers and gave her Elizabeth Taylor eyes...violet....used my cuttlebug and dies for the corners...and that is it really.
Beautiful to colour...although with pencils the red took forever ..

For my card, I used this little Teddy again, coloured with Faber Castell pencils, but to a 'Wonderful Friend'....not as a thankyou, and thats what I like with a lot of stamps...versatility..

There he is...cute little 'Daisy bear.'.and oop's forgot to crop my photo...

Everything on this card was from my stash, papers,flowers,heart brads were all just there so used them up...even the ladybug peg was sitting on my desk, was going to use it on something, changed my mind and so there he sat until I needed him.

The puff heart was given to me by a clients G/daughter...I was showing her my cards and she left this for me on the kitchen table when she went home, and the lady gave it to me the following week, so this card went to the little girl as she is my new friend.

It was so much easier to comment and get around a lot more blogs this week, blogger was sooo good, so of course I was able to pick a favourite card from last week.

I'm fighting with my PC this morning as windows is trying to update and I wont let it yet, so the struggle is on...

Had a lovely day at my 'young mans' yesterday....his Mum and Dad were up visiting and she had made me some muffins, and I was also given some smoked fish, so made a pie for tea.
His Dad was a real hoot, and made me promise to give him a' thick ear' if he messes up the place again....they were impressed with what I had accomplished so far, so that was good.

Okay, this is not going well at the moment, so will get off, get ready for work...last day, it is Friday..yipee!! and a short one, will be home by 12 noon, and it looks like rain, we are desperate for rain.

Had a great sleep last night and up bright and early this morning, bit cloudy, may burn off ,but who knows...I found my mojo hat...it went walk about for a few days, and had a gorgeous image to colour from Heather Valentin and coloured her up, then went blank....but while working at a clients on Monday, I picked up a deck of cards off the side table, the box broke, and the cards went all over the floor, when I looked down there were two cards face up, the King and Jack of hearts....and Mr Mojo was right there laughing at me and said 'you know what to do'...the rest they say is history...

Distressed all the edges of the cards and inked the edges with Heritage ink- dark walnut.

This is a surprise...me posting this time of the night...but I was having a tidy up on my PC and came across this photo...

Okay...it's not broccoli....but baby socks...give me a second or two and the penny dropped..

I was at the dairy, weeks ago and saw these socks....but my eyes really saw the lace, and thought" how pretty"...so I bought them....and did this......

Sinful.. I know....found an image, coloured it and made this.....

A lovely 50's...60's image from.....sorry, cant remember and didn't write it down on my paper...but there is that pretty lace...

I wish the sparkle showed more, because looking at it on my desk it just glimmers under the light...

One sheet of paper and pearls

Hello Everyone,

Well that weekend went fast...mind you I worked hard at my daughters on Saturday, cleaned out a huge area of bark off the play area and cleaned all the weeds out of it, raked it all level again, re matted it, and put all the bark back, then we tackled the old kitchen units behind the garage and took a ride to the dump...5 hours we all worked, and the boys were amazing,especially Zac, what a machine for some one so young. He is so blonde and fair skinned,when we finished and he took his hat off the dirt was thick in his eyebrows and all over his face, he did look funny, with black eyebrows...yesterday we chilled at the movies [their treat] and watched a re take of 'Journey to the centre of the earth' and was so pleased with myself....I never nodded off....

For my card.. to hopefully inspire you.. I used one sheet of paper, an image and a few pearls....

There it is...a cute puppy in a box...what a neat gift.

Pink card base, and a sheet of pink paper called 'just ducky baby 'from provocrafts.
The cute image is from The stamping boutique...one of the images I won.

The puppy is coloured with pencils...and the box paper pieced, even the ribbon on the box was card pieced..lol..as I use the scraps from the base....a few pearls, and a sentiment, one of my favourites from a cheap clear set I bought ages ago...love the font.

And...I added a thin pink ribbon, from my candy win from Vicky...so there you have it..

Now the part which I find so difficult...my pick from last week and we are back over the 200's...so it takes a bit of time, such wonderful projects to gaze at...but found this little honey....

Hello Everyone,

I came home from work on Tuesday afternoon...shattered...and walked into my living room and was greeted with this...

And this....

I turned on my telly, made my coffee, kept looking at these objects in my room...wondering..where did they come from?....my kids were not at their place when I rang..so just waited, in case they were here by mistake.....

My daughter rang me about an hour or so later and asked what did I think...they were from her work, where she is manager of a baby store, and they were having a refurbish, and she told HER boss that I would love these, so they were mine...

My craft room went from this......

And storage from this.......

To this.....

The old desk over to here.....and great space to fill with my trolleys and a place for my G/kids to sit when they feel inclined....

AND....They can talk to the fish...who are resonably clean this time....Widget and Blinkie.

And still got gaps to fill...I love my new desk and bookcase, and very thankful...have so much more floor space, my chair wooshes across the carpet to get what I want....so very cool...

This has taken well over an hour to post as loading up images took forever....on a rfeal go slow today, and now I'm off to see 'My Lady' for an hour and then I'm free at this stage to get things done at home.

Hello Everyone,

I can say at last that thursday is over.....Friday morning here in NZ, my last day of the week...for cleaning at least, only visit 'My Lady' Sat & Sun morning and I talk a lot [as if you hadn't noticed] and she listens....loves to hear about my blog...my wins and the stories I tell her....even if she does forget them minutes after hearing them..I even collected my parcels from the letter box and didn't open them till I arrived at her house, and she just loved it...

I had a top three win at Whoopsi Daisy, and was thrilled to pick 2 sheets of images as my prize, and lovely new release sheets..gorgeous fairies..so I'm sure I will be back to girly next week....but for today..

A beautiful Teddy Bo....a nice simple card..for the Teddy Bo Challenge [anything goes]

So there we go...I'm up early this morning, as I was run ragged yesterday..but it all went well...my man actually started picking up beer bottle caps yesterday off the lounge floor and from around the fireplace, I think he veryhappt with whay I have managed so far, so hope he does keep it up....but I doubt it....and it wont be my worry after 8 weeks....but I will remember the name, and to say NO if he ever needs help again...lol..

Hello Everyone...

Another day has dawned here, and I'm nearly dreading it...back to my 'man' today..

This is how the the system works...just so you're in the picture.

This man had an accident, went to the Dr.and was put on ACC [accident compensation] and asked what sort of help would he need...he must have said house work and washing etc, as his arm is all strapped up to his body....so the Dr gives him a form for my work,[ they] my work, dont assess the situation like the hospital does, and sent me in blind...I could have walked out...but I need the money[how sad] and as I said I like a challenge.

Just another small detail I left out yesterday...I put a new bag in the vacuume...twice ..and
have not got it all yet..I used a paint scrapper on the kitchen floor where his cat eats..have the rest of the floor to do today...but hot water and handy andy will fix that...At least the worst will be over and it will be easier the following week...that of course depends on what he has been up to in the last 2 days...lol...but I think he would have cleaned up his breakfast mess..and I think he will tell me that he did.. like a proud child...as he was so embarrassed, and I dont think he saw what the place looked like until I started to work....then he opened his eyes...now I know why my Mother always used to say to us kids "have you got clean knickers on...as you never know"...well said Mumxox.

Rightio...onto a card to share,have to get ready for work, have 'My Lady' first thing...cleaning..yikes!

This little cutie is from artist Heather Valentin...form Scrapbook Stamp Society and is my 'DreamTeam' DT card for this week.

Still got that attitude look in the eye, but so lovely to colour..meet "Lil Sue"

and she was coloured with pencils, 60's designer papers from 'Jillybean' and a giant flower as background..I paper pieced her dress and stool..which was rather fiddley..big pink blings in her flowers..and a chipboard tag,tied with vevet cord.

There you go all done...

And Clean I Did....

Hello everyone,

A man alone...I'm still reeling with shock.....I have never encounted a place so bad, in all my years of cleaning....JANE these gardens are for you...unbelievable...and the house....well, lets just say..if you watch 'renters from hell' on TV...this place would beat everyone of them..in fact..I could have walked right back out the door....but, I like a challenge, and he is a bloke, so I got stuck in..
I was in the bathroom and then toilet for the first 45 mins, and only touched the surface, the bedroom,hall and lounge..just vacuuming took another 45 mins, then attacked the kitchen...did not get the floors washed as the mop sponge was stuck to the floor, and there it stayed....and time was ticking..going back Thursday for another 1 1/2 hrs...this is lasting for 8 weeks...by then it should be pretty good....all ready for him to mess up again...How do people live like that, then keep following you around saying 'this is so embarrassing'...in the end I simply said "and so you should be"..he is 39.

Okay, enough shop talk, had to get that off my chest...feel great now, so onto a card....

Saw a challenge over at The Squirrel and the fox [Critters] and remembered this digi that I just never played with so out he came.A freebie from Colleen and have had him for quite awhile...

Kept the card really simple...no DP's...just brown card stock and manilla folder chopped up, and layered....a leafy swirl and tiny butterflies.....

Coloured with my pencils, a wee bit of copic for the tiny butterfly and flowers and dots on the ground.

This would have made a lovely scene and I might tackle that again another day, but just for now I did simple..
Going to enter into a challenge at Robyns Fetish [animals] as well.

Fix it

Hello Everyone,

Well I found this post on Vals blog ...and it has worked pretty good so far....

The easy fix is:

Settings
Comments
Comment Placement - You have to untick the radio button next to Embedded Comments and select 'Pop Up' instead.

This will fix it and will allow people to see your blog properly and leave comments. Hope this helps anyone having the same problems. However, this will only fix the issue on your own blog, you can't change what you see on others blogs obviously, and this could affect quite a few blogs.

I know what she means...if everyone does this..then commenting is easier, but you still strike the odd one..just thought I would share...

Have a new client today...a man...alone...for a long time...needs help now!!...Oh! NO...went for a drive to see exactly where he lives, as I rush all day,and did not want to take up time looking for a house....went down his street and thought..'.a man on his own for a long time...that one!...that looks like a man alone house'...oooo..yuk!! I was right....can only just see the house over the weeds....if it looks bad from outside....I can only imagine what the inside looks like...[shudder]...

Speaking of men...I was talking to my brother on Saturday, and he was feeling right poorly...and complaining about it...and I had just found a challenge at Cute card Thursday #199 with the theme
"Your'e having a laugh"...well as my brothers problem was self inflicted and I found this image called
'Sickly Sam'...just had to play....[there is no link for Sam as the blog has closed down]

Poor Sam....Coloured with pencils, and paper pieced his jumper....

He does not look well at all...even his tongue is a bit green...and he is grey around the gills..

Side view...papers were from a pad in my stash,and it has knitted effect,[pearl stitch].. sentiment I made on PC...

So there is sickly Sam, and today he is on his way to my brother 40mins away...

Bundle of Joy

Hello Everyone,

I made my chicken stir fry with Broccoli...and it was the best broccoli I have ever eaten....but I do prefer cauliflour...anyway took some to' my Lady'...steamed with cheese sauce on it, so get the verdict today.

No good taking it raw,as she is not a cook...it would sit in the fridge forever....like her Christmas chicken breast that had been cooked for so long you could have played squash with it...and got hurt if it hit you..lol..it has finally been tossed, but you just cant tell her you have tossed it..[she is getting worse]

Right then, onto my card ....

A Meljen design image which I love, and have used several times for new baby cards.

Paper peiced the baby blanket to match the background paper, and coloured with pencils...added punched stars and the cutest little baby shoe charm...ribbon from stash.

My sentiment stamp is from a clear set that I've had for a long time, just never used it much, and I cut around it in a wavy shape..

Cant believe it...I was up showered, dressed, and ready for blogging action sooo early this morning, and silly internet explorer played up and I could not log on...so I turned it off at the wall for 5 mins, turned it all back on...now we are super fast and all go...

It is Monday morning..and not raining.......at the moment. Hello Everyone,

I have a new card to share today, and this card came in a candy I won from LISA blank of course, flat, with envelopes...but no 'how to for Chrissy' instructions..lol...I fiddled around, regardless that it went into a fold on its own..or maybe because I'm left handed, I had it wrong..and knew it, so fiddled some more, and now I think the fold is right..anyway here it is....

This is my fairytale for new beginnings....young love sitting reading "Once upon a time"..which I hand wrote...on their book.

LOTV image, coloured with pencils......sentiment says "You unlocked my heart" and there is a metal heart and a key..slightly around the corner...I didn't photograph around enough..

Cute Friends with Stampfairy

Hello Everyone,

Time to share some new images with you from STAMPFAIRY...

Awww...are they not cute...who loves a snowman....

Meet GEORGE and his friends....

Well...one friend..

Theres a close up George and his friend...sitting on the sled..and cruising down the slopes..
Coloured with pencils for their cheeks...and that was a about it...paper pieced their scarves, inked the edges ,added glitter, and just outlined these snowy men with a grey copic..easy as.

The Happy New Stamp is not the best stamp in the world, but becuase it's rustic looking, it went with the fence nicely...

Used white wool string for the bow and it is so fluffy...snowflakes out of the DP Forever Friend 'Santas on his way'...and the background paper was the last of one that I had already cut into, Basic Grey... I really liked it, and lost the bottom strip with the name on...so it is a guessing game for that one.

Hello Everyone,

Nothing to report today..my day yesterday went very smoothly, the sun nearly stayed out all day.
Had washing and cleaning, beds to change, but everywhere I went clients seemed to be happy and content...no confusion...well not too much, and all in all a great day.

Took the dog down to the reserve and he had a swim in the creek...phooh...but with all the rain it wasn't too bad when we got back in the car...he ate enough grass down there to start his own dairy farm if he could produce milk..dont know why he eats so much grass..always has.

Have a very pretty card to share today....

Something New

Hello Everyone,

I managed to get through my visit yesterday with 'My Lady' without too much drama..she has accepted we are in the New Year..1912....nooo..2012...well...for 2012 you would think we would be a bit more advanced..and so we went on...for 1/2 an hour...I left feeling I should have worn my Flash Gordon suit, maybe she would have been happier, hopefully in a better mood this morning...

At least the rest of the day was mine, and mine alone...and make cards I did...several...the mojo was in top gear and so many ideas floating around in the old grey matter..so here is number 1...

The elephant was a freebie from Beccy and I printed the first one big,,,the babies small and fussy cut them out.[same elephant, just re-sized]

Coloured with pencils, sky with template and ink, and the last of my grass from Dora and a tiny mushroom, that was attached to a peg and I ripped it off..

Hello Everyone,

My last day off, and going to make to most of it.I'm going to do nothing....well, for 5 minutes..I dont do nothing very well, get bored too quick, but, I'm going to cruise through the day, and just relax in my craft space...cloudy again, the camping ground down the road is emptying out rather quickly....so sad really....came to Sunny Napier for Christmas and New Year...and it has poured down, day and night for 6 days...
'My Lady' was so surprised yesterday when I turned up with my umbrella...."I didnt know it was raining today"........it has been for 5 days now dear...was my reply.
" no it hasn't, today is the first time...we have had lovely weather"...Christmas day was beautiful"..[yesterday]...Oh! God...it was a long morning....trying to explain that she lost a week...now it is New Year...lol...

Never mind, have made a Thankyou card...for a challenge at TOTALLY TILDA

Coloured with pencils, and finally cut her into a cirlce with out cutting her head off...I went to u-tube to watch a video on how to do it...I won this stamp from Bev Rochester.

I still get carried away when inking the edges, I think I need new sponges, mine are tatty, and spread the ink too much. so then I have to go around again to fill the gaps, and I get deeper into the image .

Papers used were Jillibean soup [Blossom] from Vicky's candy..flower WOC, lady bird on a peg, and the stamp was a cheap wooden one from a set, and just the perfect size for the die from Tickled Pink stamps...the tiny ribbon was the tie on a packet of chocolates that I was given for Christmas...

So thats it...Tuesday morning, off to see 'My Lady'...then I'm free for the rest of the day..excellent.

I used the wrong image..lol..I used 'Ruby Christmas' from Bugaboo..lol..so I had to make a glass to go in her hand instead of the Christmas bauble that she is holding...lol

I'm so high today on chocolates....

There is my card today...to wish you all a very Happy New Year..2012...it has been the most wonderful year, meeting so many wonderful, kind, caring, people from all over the world.

Thankyou all so much for your kind comments, support, inspiration,sharing,and for just being there.

I have been the happiest I could be this year...the happiest I have been for a long time...and I thank you for that.

Hope you all have a wonderful time on the Eve of our New Year, and may next year 2012 be the best it can be for you all...I wish you good health and happiness....and do take care.

I opted to babysit this Eve....so my G/sons and I are having Fish n chips for tea, DVD's to watch, and CHOCOLATES...WHOO HOO...The best way to close the year down...and I'm taking them home in the morning at 7.30am....to wish their parents a Happy New Year...lol..mean eh!!!..[but some of us have to go to work] so they get theirs kids back early...

Lil Ragamuffin....

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all well and rested after the big day..I have eaten my through my boxes of chocolates...and thats counting the ones before Christmas, and nearly a whole box of chocolate biscuits...
I deserve to be sick...but I'm not...I have a cast iron stomach when it comes to chocolate...love it.

I had a fabulous Christmas, my daughter and her family bought me a new umberella for the garden table.. huge, no holes, no broken arms, just perfect.....AND..it fits in the hole in my table...no shaving wood off..

My son bought me a new DVD player...as mine gave up the ghost...probably full of dog hair..lol..
and then all the others bits and pieces...and a 12x12 pad of gorgeous papers Crafters Choice 'Country Basics'...spots and stripes and the odd sheets of flowers...fabulous colours...then there were pearls and ribbons,black and white card stock...2 packets...papers stubs for blending my pencils....where they found those was beyond me...been looking all over for those....Oh!!! all sort of crafty things from the G/sons...what a great Christmas.....they took me shopping on boxing day so I could choose for myself most of my goodies...and hears me moaning that they dont buy me crafty stuff.....I take it back.

Then I went and won a candy from the lovely Marianne

and then from the sweet Kylie

Boxing Day Special

Hello Everyone,

Today is boxing day, Christmas day is over, and a fabulous day we had..I am sunburnt, over fed, over tired,and had a marvelous time.
We had water pistol fights, water balloon fights.everyone and everything got soaked..lol..but it was so hot and we dried out so fast, great day....what happened to the water pistols we used to play with...these days the kids are running round with AK47's which hold 6 litres of water and never seem to run out..lol..

Wonderful day, and today is shopping day at all the sales...I love it.
Then we start all over again next week for New Year...

Merry Christmas Everyone

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas...it is Christmas morning here in New Zealand...a beautiful bright sunny morning, and going to be a long and happy day.

The Grandchildren have already rung me this morning and Tyla, being young, has already told me that he has a secret....."and I'm not allowed to tell you that we bought you some bling blings nana, it's a secret"....bless him.

I'm off to see 'my Lady'...and then my Dad, around lunchtime we will head off to my daughters and crack open a bubbly, and away we will go.

Food is all prepared and the men are cooking the rest....we have changed our plans to tea time, as the 2 girls [G/daughters] cannot join us till after 3pm....so we will indulge in chips,pate',dips etc till later.

So hope you all have a very Merry Christmas, and thank you, from the bottom of my heart for all your support, inspiration, and encouragement, over this wonderful year of blogging.

Christmas Eve photos

Hello Everyone,

Well, it is Christmas Eve morning for me, and have a few things to do...off to see 'My Lady' this morning and sort her day out, then back into my the kitchen for few hours of prep for tomorrow.

The Ham is spectacular this year..mmm...and have got 30 or so chicken on sticks to make..yay!
As we are in summer,[not that you would think so today] we are leaning towards a BBQ...but with a bit of posh stuff on the side....prawns being my favourite, and I made sure there were plenty.

The fish pie I'm making is mainly for my son and one of his daughters, they dont like meat!!!
so I dont want them to eat just a bun with some salad...thats the reason behind that.

I tottered off last night before it got real dark to take pics of the house with all the lights...so mant people, and not being quite dark enough, these are the best I came up with.

I would have waited till it was very dark, they would have looked so much better, but I'm night blind, so had to get back home before darkness took over.

The young man who owns this property has had a different and hard life, but has proved that anything can happen.

When he was 17 years old, he lied to his parents about going to the movies with some friends...instead they went joy riding....one of the boys in the back seat got snippy and wanted the change seats with [Mark]..so they did...and coming down the back hills, the driver lost control, and the car went over the edge of the bank....the driver died, the front passenger was decapitaed, and the boys in the back were seriously injured and Mark was left a quadraplegic.[not sure if thats how you spell it]..and as no one knew where they were... they were alone down the bottom of the gully for about 14 hours....

So if there are teens reading this...dont fib!!!!

Years of therapy, he is now in his 30's and has many businesses...lights are one of them, and have become very popular, and this is his over the top, but gorgeous show home.

So there you are, no card today, but hope you enjoyed the photos.

Had better get cracking, lots to do...

Last of Christmas

Hello Everyone,

Hopped of to the supermarket yesterday before work and picked up some plain roast dinners for my lady...after the phone drama, she still prattled on, so took them to her, and told a white lie, that they got them in store expecially for her for Christmas....well, she beamed at me, was very happy and contented,felt very important.....now I have 2 days left to make sure she understands to take them out of the cardboard box before she puts them in her oven..lol..I will organise that on Christmas morning I think...

Have a couple of cards to share,, these are the last of my Christmas cards for the children, so I will just show with not a lot of tell...

The border behind the image is a load of punched snowflakes...the bow is a christmas decoration on a close peg.

This card is for Zach..Santa cloured with copics, and the deer with pencils.

Yay....mouse on a bauble...if I cannot have an elf, then a mouse is the next best thing..lol.

This one is for Tyla....

Poor Santa, stuck going down the chimney..lol..

Open the card, and the chimney is on the roof,where it should be...lol..
Just plain dark blue paper for the background, and I stuck the silver stars on it, the roof is just a piece of cardboard cut to shape.Santa coloured with copics and pencils,

I'm quite sure thats the last of the Christmas cards...if it isn't...well then, I have a head start on next year..lol..

Off to work now,to see 'My Lady'...hope she didn't cook those dinners yesterday, I never thought of that..lol..naaa, she's not that bad...

Have the boys this afternoon as they are already on holiday...so silly finishing school 2 weeks before Christmas....2 more sleeps...done everything, just a fish pie to make and a few salads, the weather looks pretty promising, wines are chilling, and the chocolates.........................................oh..

Well you see, I live on my own, and well, no one stopped me, and well, I just couldnt help it....

Shame on me........I only left 6 in the box..lol..I felt quite sick..even after taking the photos, I still ate more..lol..

Neary the end

Hello Everyone,

Well did I have a special treat last night...sitting here getting ready to colour in some new images, and the phone rings...was my son in law asking if I would like to go round for tea [fish'n'chips] and then going for a drive to see all the pretty lights on houses, as we have competitions here.

I was right chuffed that he would ask me, so thats just what we did...wheres the photo's you ask....come on now, we are talking about me...I left the camera at home..

There was one very special, over the top house, and I might whip back tonight and get some pics....we'll see.

Phew..I've picked from the garden my Christmas lillies, and they're on the cabinet right where I'm typing, and the perfume hits you suddenly, ..

My mother planted these years ago when she lived in this flat.When she died and I moved in, I had a tidy up and split the bulbs, moved things around, and these babies sulked and never flowered for a long time...last year they tried, but were nothing to rave about...but this year the whole 5 spikes did their thing, so I have a very perfumed house for Christmas..

My card today is for a one year old child, but the Mum didnt want it too babyish......

So found this little pet at Raising our kids site.

Fun Card

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all your comments yesterday...and I did listen to myself on the answering phone...didn't sound like me, I knew I had a deep loud voice [talk to deaf people all day] ...but didn't realise how loud and deep..lol..I'd be good in a movie talking on the phone, if I didn't know better, I'd have thought that I was actually talking to someone...
Anyway. it worked...

I was kinda dissappointed about the cones not being used but relieved at the same time, as it was going to be such a big job, right on Christmas, and New Year...but have managed to finished the invitations last night....can show you after the wedding..

Bit more news before we hit the card....I had an e-mail from an artist known as Heather Valentin..asking me if I would be a designer for Scrapbook Stamp Society and join their 'Dream Team'..I checked out their images and they are gorgeous, said I would be delighted to and will be starting just after Christmas.

Onto todays little number....a real fun card for me to do, a Kenny K image, boy with goldfish.

I loved colouring this litte guy..Coloured with pencils and papers from Rosies studio pad..

A close up of the fish in the bag which was so overfilled with clear glue to make water and a few pearls for the bubbles. [hard to see how thick the glue is]

And the other side...clipped my corners again with the circle punch, and did some shading around the image..dont usually do that cause I forget to.

Diamonds...are not my best friend

Hello Everyone,

Getting closer to the big day....it is causing all sorts of havoc with my eldery clients.
'My lady'...[bless her,through gritted teeth]...was adamant that she drove to the shops last year and bought Christmas roast dinners for her freezer....so why cant I find them??

I tried to explain that the roast dinners are the same [they are the only kind you can get] but she still thinks that they made Christmas ones last year.............................so picked up the phone, rang my house, had an argument with my own answering machine, and demanded why they have not made Christmas dinners this year, as my lady is very dissappointed.....came back to her and said they were very sorry, but this year they just sticking to normal roast dinners....she was satisfied....I left her house with a headache.

Diamonds.....they gave me a headache as well...only because there was a challenge at TEDDY BO
and it is, use your birth stone, and mine is diamond April. Dont know why I found it difficult,maybe getting tired so near the end of the year.

Anyway came up with this Teddy Bea card....

Coloured with pencils, and papers are Prima 'Sparkling Spring'..added tiny butterflies to the flowers and crystals...

Bit of a side view...

Close up of Fairy Bea...now...this is my theory.. she is sending magical diamonds from her wand and turning the butterflies into diamonds on the vine...she would be a very handy Fairy Bear to have around if she could do that..lol..

So there you go, another card done, in between these invites...the cones have gone out the window, as the reception is on a beach, and with the sea breezes the cones were too light, she loved the one I made, but could be too light, and I was not going to offer any advice on fixing the problem, just too much to do, and didnt want the fluff around with only 4 weeks notice.

Cannot show the invites yet, as she wants me to wait till after the wedding, very plain anyway, but nice...the wedding theme sounds really lovely though.

Here is the one and only cone...

I added butterflies and pearls to it, but she shot off with it before I could take another photo.

Anyway, that is over...just have 30 more invites to do, and thats over too.

Better get ready for work, time is rolling fast this morning...hope the rest of the day does too...it's going to be a long and busy one.

Night sky?

The weekend is over for me and what a fabulous one I had.

The weather turned to custard, so what else could I do, but sit and make cards, without an ounce of guilt.
Poor Nelson, down in the South Island has suffered really bad weather, but here in the North we just had rain that we desperately needed.

So now...Monday is just getting started...and time for MAKE IT MONDAY to get started again for a brand new week.

My card this week was going to be a Christmas card for my G/son [the youngest one], but, someone spotted it, and wanted it, so I sold it...lol..but, I have made him a new one which you will see later in the week.

There's my little reindeer, with his night sky. I worked on that sky for ages and my wrist got so sore..lol..I used my sky template and a stampin up ink called 'blue Bayou' but it is a very fast drying ink, so you could only do little bits and quickly or it didnt blend, then went over in lighter blue and black.I used make up sponges, and trust me, there's not much left of them left..

Added white card along the bottom, shaped like a small hill, and glitterd it up, for snow.
The tiny tree is a gold Christmas decoration branch out of a floral centre piece display, but no one will miss it..lol..

The 'sentiment was from Ladybug Craft inks, a freebie in a magazine...and tied to the tree.
Added gold stars to the sky....done....and I loved him, but he is gone...hopefully to be loved by another .

My pick this week...well, lets just say, I nearly had to pick by random org ...but I did love this one.

Fuusy and Fancy with Barry

A new challenge over at Fussy and Fancy ....are you ready for this.....

MONOCHROMATIC
AND SPARKLE
So after my temperature came back to normal, and my blood pressure resumed to it's normal low,
I contimplated my options.....e-mail and fake a sicky...just say 'cant do it'..or bite the bullet...
I bit the bullet...be it right or wrong, this is what I came up with....

Cute little Barry all in blue...except, lost my way, and made his hat and scarf yellow..

There is a close up and all the sparkle...

Pretty blue snowflake and new beads that I found.... blue stars...

And these beauties...ribbons with beads already hanging there, and as cheap as chips from a store called 'Dollars and cents'...dont be fooled by the name, they have some expensive stuff too, but their craft aisles are fabulous..for beads and small stuff...

It's Official

Hello Everyone,

It is now official...I'm a new design team member of Crafty Sentiments Design
I was thrilled to bits to get an e-mail a few weeks ago, asking if I would like to join CSD and now it's official, I'm in, and we get started the first Wednesday in February 2012..so excited.

I can remember the thrill of my first DT postiton, and a comment was made, "first you get on one and then another and another" and remember thinking, no way, I could only cope with one....well Mary J you were right...lol..

So, I had a great day yesterday...finished work early, came home, got cleaned up, and plopped down at the computer to do my thing...knock on the door!!!

A lady was there, and told me that one of my friends sent her round as I make wedding invitations, and she was very interested in seeing 'what else can you come up with'.....

So we went through folders and such looking at samples...then she noticed the cone tree that I posted yesterday...after a lengthy disscussion about all sorts of wedding stuff,and a phone call to the bride.. she decided that she wants me to make 20 white cone trees for the wedding tables...AND..the invitations.....and placed and order for Christmas cards all the same but not CAS, she wants foo foo cards....No pressure lady....

What is pressure, the wedding is going to be in 4 weeks...and only just sorting out invites...her words.."it's only a small wedding, more family than friends...80 in total"...
80???YIKES!!!!

Onto todays project....popcorn boxes

Cute huh!! My daughter wanted them for her staff, and made all her chocolates and fudge balls etc, stuffed red tissue inside then the chocolates, and promptly forgot to take the photo for me when they were finished....but you get the ides.
The boxes were found at the Warehouse, and only needed the word 'popcorn' removed so out came the smoking cuttlebug, and away I went.
Added a few holly leaves and blings...done. Each side has a different sentiment..

Okay...thats it. I' ve yabbered long enough...Thanks for stopping by, and will see you tomorrow...will be cutting and folding all afternoon when I get home...80!!! good grief.

Oh! Christmas tree

Hello Everyone,

Well, I'm nearly done...Christmas can start now...just the meltie things to buy and going to do that tonight.
Been busy, busy, busy, making crafty things for the younger ones,and I have now set up and decorated 5 Christmas trees...and their lights all work...but I'm still at a half...middle and very top is out...so I'm going to the warehouse tonight and getting another set and sprinkle them around in the dark gaps.

Have another kind of tree to share today....

A cone...

Wrapped very badly in green ribbon...

Then wrapped in tinsel....and a silver star on top...

Then some red berries....

Then some white flowers.....white and fluffy balls...a few silver balls....done.

And here is the sad half dark tree..with a droopy branch, right in the middle for goodness sake...it does not look too bad in this picture, but at night you can see the dark bit in the middle and on top...never mind, a few more lights will fix the problem..

Right, time to get ready for work....no children this afternoon....so might get busy on a few more projects for them...and get my fake presents out to put under the tree...

Snowman Hugs

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend...I sure had a good one...My son and one of his daughters took me to Christmas in the park..what a beautiful calm night, the singing was lovely, and Santa arrived suspended from a helicopter, sitting in his chair...a very brave man, I must say...
Thousands of people there, and the most spectacular fireworks display at the end, and a mans voice telling the story of Christ, as each firework went up, just beautiful...very moving.

And talking of very moving...I have made a card to share.

This is the story that went with this freebie image...

I was thinking about my daughter when I drew this picture and how she's going to miss her dad at Christmas. She's a daddy's girl and I thought how cute it would be to have a military snowman and a little girl hugging it.

However, not everyone has a family member serving overseas for the holidays and so I just went with the general idea of a little girl hugging the snowman.

But, now you know the origin of the image. :)

Now this drawing was done by my very talented team mate over at 'Make it Monday' Lisa Minckler

And, it really moved me when I read her story..I deal with people young and old everyday, and I here a lot of..".can't have a Ham this year, too expensive"...."What rubbish movies on Christmas day"..couldn't get" Watties peaches have to have Oak peaches, dont like Oak"...moan, moan, moan.. it made me think.......

Coloured with pencils, added lace, papers are Basic Grey 'Infuse'

Close up of image...I think it is a great drawing, cant tell if you can see the sparkles at this stage, but they are on her tights and hat, and the snowmans scarf...all the snowflakes have glitter too, and used white gel pen for the dots around the image.AND..used my brand new circle die, had it on lay-by
for ages...always had the scallop one and used to cut the scallops off, but this is sooo much easier.

The sentiment is computer generated and the font is 'Storybook'.

So there you have it..a very brown card, but suited the image..
Hope I've done it justice Lisa...

I'm off to get ready for work...Tuesday morning for me, quite a long day today, then I have the boys after school and getting their tea done etc...then I can come home and crash...Amen!!

Friends at last.....but for how long???

My card for this week is my favourite cat Magnum, and his side kick Lily...always at logger heads with each other....remember..

Well, this time. they seem to be friends...just dont know how long it will last, but at least they are sharing the festive season's FUN!!

Coloured with pencils, papers 'first edition'. snowflakes with added gems,nice teal ribbon,[ bought this ribbon, and few more like it, when I went to the craft show in September,$1.00 a reel]....not much on the reel, but enough for two cards and a bow, not bad for a dollar.

Aww..isn't that nice, smiling at each other and no lip licking from Magnum ....

What a terrible news flash on MSN news today, with the winds and rain in Scotland, sending love to you all over there and hope and pray that everyone will be okay...how frightening.

Theres my fancy die, cut in half, and a glossy ribbon from my stash.
Some glitter around the edge of the image and the baubles, metallic paint for snow.

Molly...but no sketch

The card I'm sharing today is the freebie image you will win, after completing the blog hop HERE

But good old me, forgot we had a sketch to follow, so I didn't post my card till now...

There she is...beautiful Peeker Molly Fairy peeking over the brick wall.
Coloured with pencils and loads of glitter on her wings [she may never fly again with that weight]
The brick wall paper came just as it is, and was in my scrapbox, the border of flowers is a 12" stip, cut in half...the inside is decorated same as the front...but forgot to photograph it.

Molly has puff dots behind her to lift her up above the wall, which has caused shadows, no matter how I photographed her...

So there you go, thats me for this morning, have woken with a stiff neck, and do look strange trying to turn my head..lol..raining and chilly today, my poor G/son will be so dissappointed as they had their school trip today out to a place called Eskdale park, its a river, great for swimming, and an enormous field to play all sorts of games...but I think they may be having lunch inside...oh dear!!...

Will be back tonight with my Stampfairy new release, so will see you all then..

Hello Everyone,

In case you thought I was having and Abba flashback, or plunging into a new marriage....let me assure you, nothing of the sort, [though I still like Abba songs]...What I meant, was, that I do love this card...

The front of this card has a window cut out. added accetate ,and the image is inside.

This gorgeous image is from BECCY and so well shaded it is easy to colour.
I used white metallic paint for the snow, and inked my sky with grey ink, for a colder look.

You can nearly make out the accetate here, it's very hard to photograph.
The girl on the front of the card is the same girl as yesterday, she is just not as tall, but still paper pieced...A big double bow up the top, and the flowers, and pearls are from my stash..

I only added this photo as I liked the shadow...lol..and the bow, was from 'My Lady'...who said, "Do what you can with it"...so I did, it was a lot more squashed when she gave it to me....

So thats me done...Thursday morning....wash day, but the good news for me is...it's Sunny....

Have the boys after school for the next 2 weeks, so will be at their house cooking and cleaning, doing the family stuff...I just draw the line when it comes to homework, would rather clean the toilet twice than listen to a child stuttering and stammering over reading...maths games we love to play...or me ..reading to them and using a new voice for every person or animal in the book, is their highlight of the evening,then I leave gracefully, and come home...naaa...I get in my car and go like a bat out of hell to get home so I can have a play and do commenting before bed time..lol...

No trouble at all

Hello Everyone,

What a great night the girls put on for our Christmas Party...only had a few wines...but the food!!
I think I ate a whole weeks supply, only wish I didn't...it was amazing the spread they put out.
Ham on the bone, chicken sticks, scallops in bread cases,little pies and all sorts of stuff, chocolate balls, strawberries with cambert cheese slice inside, roses chocolates everywhere....no gaps along the table, and it looked so beautiful.

Then they thanked us and said if it wasnt for their great workers the company would not be what it is today, and they applauded us. Was really lovely..

Have a card to share with you, and this one flowed like a river, had the idea in my head and went for it..

This beautiful image was a freebie from BECCY only coloured the face, the coat was paper pieced, and glitter added for the fur trim.
The tree is my favourite for cutting out at the moment, and think it was a colouring page.
Added my fence, but cut it in half added glitter for snow, and along the bottom...lots of flowersoft..

For the sky I used my template again, but with slightly darker blue ink...and the cute star clothes pin I found in the Christmas decoration section at the warehouse..

I'm sure she is making a Christmas Wish...probably wishing she packed her axe..lol..

Simple gift

Hello Eveyone,

Cloudy and so cool today, will make my work so much easier, yesterday we shot up to 26o C...and that I dont like...well...not too bad really, but it was sticky heat..

My Christmas tree is up, lights on [3 sets] all his baubles and bling...looked lovely the first night, and then....poof...all the lights went out...now it is a dark sad looking thing, and I will have to strip it to get the lights going again..ah! well..you get what you pay for...that goes for card stock too..

I ran out of the white cardstock that I like to use for my card bases and was told not till after Christmas will anymore... if at all,...will be availible, so I bought a substitute and it is awful...as soon as glue touches it, it wrinkles up....so here is a wrinkled card to share..lol..

It doesn't look too bad in the photos, so thats good...this is the Stampfairy gift box image, blown up big...and paper pieced and glittered.

Here is the little tag that comes out with a freebie very cute image from Spyder [Lyn]

And...the gift card attached in the back...with removable tape.

I actually made this 3 times...and botched everyone, I nearly gave up as this was botched too, I was supposed to leave the top of the box open,to slide the tag down inside the box but glued it down everytime...must have been more tired than I thought, but never mind, it is made and ready to enter a challenge at C R A F T challenge [Christmas present]...

Have my work Christmas party tonight, so that should be fun...all that yummy food and a few wines..

This gorgeous image was a freebie over at Mo Mannings, the other day.

He is so cute, and so lovely to colour.....the other day I was cleaning over at my boys house, and my sons beanbag had a hole in it and all these polystyrene balls were on his bedroom floor...and my first thought???....snowballs....so up they came into my hands, not the hoover, and here they are.

The die behind the image is working so much better, but still takes a long time pricking it out of the die, but it is really pretty.

What a big weekend, but loved every minute of it...bloghops, cards, DT work, no kids......oops!...did I say that...well, sometimes I enjoy MY time, and I had plenty of it, which was so good as I had work to catch up on, and I did, plus play time, so it was all good.

Time I ironed my backdrop...the summer light here does nothing for photos, perched this wee fellow everywhere, outside is worse for shadows.
