DONT DO IT FLAT!!

Hello Everyone....

Hope you all had a great weekend......and didn't it go fast.....But cannot complain as it was a good one, fine sunny days and managed to get lots of outside work done as well as crafting.....

A new Monday, so MAKE IT MONDAY  is off to start another week.....congratulations to the winners from last week, and dont forget to check all the DT's blog to see if you their favourite pick from last week too....so many wonderful crafters out their, makes that part all the harder to choose.

Speaking of crafting, todays card shows what not to do with flowers..............

This is the front of my card, using a lovely image of a giant treehouse from LADIES THAT CRAFT a new sponsor for Make it Monday......details at the end of my post..

Coloured with pencils, while my imagination went off to Fairy land, I cut and glued and folded and added all sorts of things......then I stood this baby up....and then uh oh!................

I had glued the flowers while it was flat......hot glued, unremoveable............

And now it wont fold.....it does not want to sit up in the front or middle at all....and it twisted too....

I thought about it for a few days wondering how to fix it without everything ripping as that glue sticks!

Then the best I came up with was this.........................

Still a bit crooked, but I punched holes through the folds, and tied thin ribbon very tightly on the fold to hold it in place....lol...at least for a photo...

I do love the flowers from WOC, my favourites...now I have to spell it..chrysanthemums..

MB Spring border, Marriane birdhouse and fence, little clouds too, and a bird that looked good then, now looks too big.....but loved making this card, so all is well..

For my pick this week.....# 209 Pia  .....

I just love this image and Pia has done such a great job on the paper piecing...isn't it great...

What I love, Chrissy is that you are willing to share your mistakes with us so that we learn right along with you. The card certainly does not look like it has a mistake. You just tell to recipient that the card isn't supposed to be folded and then they won't know. lol! NancyD

Hi Chrissy, Aim your hot air gun at the flowers (the type you use for embossing) and that will soften up the glue enough so that you can pull off the flowers without tearing either the card or the flowers.

I love that treehouse stamp, and for all the trials with the gluey flowers, I love the finished piece! And a great pick too... have a wonderful week!
