TELL ME A STORY

Tell me story, tell me story
Tell me story, remember what you said
You promised me you said you would
You got to give in so I'll be good
Tell me a story, then I'll go to bed

Hello everyone..remember that song..gosh! I listened to it again on google and never realise what awful singing it was..but I loved the kids verse of this song..

And that message brings us to a book card I was asked to make...using the star image of the book "BARRY" from the now closed stampfairy.

This book card was made for a young fellow who thought his Mum was a worry wart and a nag...UNTIL..

Names have been changed and Barry is being the stand in...

Was a fine beautiful Summers day up the coast of a very popular beach in New Zealand..Piha [Peeha]

Young Barry wanted to go fishing and his Mum said it would be okay BUT..only if he stayed on the small jetty and didn't wander off, as there is a lot of danger under the sea and you cannot see it until it is too late....[nag nag nag...muttered Barry]

So off he went to the jetty with his fishing pole and bucket and started his day fishing...[what dangers!!...such a worry wart.]

Mmmm..I wonder!!

Barry soon became pretty bored sitting on the jetty and decided his Mum would never know if he went further down the beach and fished off the rocks...[the big boys do it all the time]

It wasn't long before the tide turned and it became a bit choppy as he watched his bucket float away..

Suddenly a small dolphin leapt out the water not too far away from the rocks and gave Barry a bit of a start...but he was happy to see him though..although the sea was getting choppier by the minute.

He did think he should make his way back...but it was too late. The tides and freak waves in Piha were too quick and the biggest wave came over the top of the rocks and swept Barry into the sea.

Thanks to the Piha lifeguards and the West pack Helicopter rescue service..Barry was quickly located and rescued...he was taken to the local hospital, checked out and then could go home..

Mothers do know best and this young lad had a very scary fright and I'm sure next time he will listen to Mum...

There's the whole book card and really loved how my glass table reflected up and made the scene more watery..

Thanks so much for stopping by...I will try to come on more but have just been so busy with orders..book cards and cards with matching boxes..working and relieving with other clients..

Phew..who said I was going to slow down in 2015..oh! me that's who..well I never listen to myself anyway..

See you Thursday..or maybe tomorrow.

luv CHRISSYxx

Hi Chrissy what a fabulous book card and such a story but so pleased it had a happy ending. Just the other night two young men were drowned standing by the sea's edge as a dare - so tragic. Hugs Susan x

Oh hun, you have done it again. I even found myself on the edge of my seat as the tide got higher. Naughty "Barry", but so relieved all ended ok. Perhaps he will listen to worry wart from now on. Stunning book card hun, adore how you have created this and Barry is looking mighty fine indeed, even if he doesn't listen. Clever you with the glass table too! Hugs xx
