FRIDAY...MY DAY OFF..

Hello Everyone...

Yes, today is Friday and I have had the day off..and it was just lovely..
I didn't clean the house..I didn't clean the car..I didn't clean anything..made my bed and straight into my craft space and played nearly all day..

The project to share today I didn't make in one day..took about a week I suppose waiting for glue to dry and paint to dry..then the mind went blank and I had to think a bit..but at the end I was happy..

A masculine canvas...

It started off with a disaster..all the bubble wrap I glued on held onto the paint and glue and it swelled up so much I didn't know what to do with it...so it sat on the other side of the room for 2 weeks..lol..

Then I cut up toilet rolls and a lunch wrap roll and glued them on..I don't know where I was going just yet...

Then I found Charlie Chaplin while surfing the net and I love Charlie Chaplin...and so it began.

I forgot to take some photos so this it the side view after I painted the rolls black and added copper and gold paint..

I filled some of the rolls with glue and threw in screws..washers..picture hooks and a couple of bolts...they took forever to dry..then painted with gold and copper paint again..and brushed the paint over the rest of the canvas to bring out the texture that was there...

Added Charlie and his quote..he was fussy cut out and also a chipboard key...

A side view..

I love it when a plan comes together...even during a disaster..

This is amazing, Chrissy - I've never seen anything like it. Love the dimensional circular frames created with the rolls, and the idea of throwing objects into glue is inspired (even if they did take a while to dry - totally worth it!). The golden and coppery gilding is wonderful with the steely blue greys, and Charlie looks very happy with his new setting. Brilliant mixed media creativity.

LOLOL...I can just see you putting your canvas in the corner across the room and saying as you walk away, "You just stay there and think about what you've done!"
I'm so amazed by the depth and concept of this. I love the recycled circles and their ingredients and CC is a fabulous choice for this masculine canvas.
You really do have the muse living with you, Chrissy. You're art says so much!
Beautiful job.
Big hugs to you and happy weekend!

Love your art work, a brilliant design. The fun is seeing how your design evolves. Sometimes scary, not looking quite like you intended!! I get great enjoyment using things from around the house. Off to London to a big craft fair tomorrow and to buy some wooden shapes. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Carol S.xx
