Hello everyone,
Hope you all had a great weekend and the weather was kind..
I made gift card holders last year for male female Christmas kids etc.. using a template I made, which meant I had to measure!!! and then cut by hand and score the fold lines, then glue papers on top which had to be measured and stuff, and it was not hard, but time consuming..so
I had a plan at about 4.20 one morning and bingo, it worked..
Back to the cat food pouches, I saved loads of them because you never know..
Front side..
Backside..
first attempt and mess up..too hard..
cut the flap off, then snipped the bottom
and added it on and cut the new flap..
this is what I ended up with..
it was okay, BUT, took too long, too much mucking around, got to be an easier...
and there was..
This time I kept the top flap as I already had it, cut the middle out
and added the bottom and then added that tiny bottom bit onto the bottom of the top...
follow the arrows..
and there you go, it took approximately 4 mins...naa, less that, lets see...snip, snip, glue, press done..40 seconds.
so I made a whole bunch of them..
and to work pout the papers, it was very easy, measure once and
glue in to strips, inside strip and out side strip..
These papers were A5, size one for the front ( outside )..
and one sheet for the inside..
all nature flavour..
a simple PC printed ( A gift for you )..
a bit tedious die cutting them all out but at least they were straight, not like my scissor cutting, that is just plain sad..
All edges distressed with ink and velcro dots holding them shut..
Then I added mushroom washi stickers, they just made me happy..
and there they all are, one days work, not even a full day,
just from about 8a. till 1.30, that's when I have my Nana nap..
and I forgot to show you there is a pocket inside for a gift card..
They were easy too, just cover the left over panel from the middle,
with papers then cut them into 3..pockets.
thank you so much for stopping by..
Luv CHRISSYxx

Lovely gift envelopes Chrissy. xx
Genius idea and execution. They don't smell like cat food, tho, do they? heeheehee Never even seen a catfood pouch before so I wouldn't know. Hope your weather is cooperating! xoxo
Gosh Chrissy, that's a lot of gift holders to make in such a short time- no one would guess that they started life as cat food packaging! They look gorgeous and I love the toadstools.
xx
Great gift card holders Chrissy. You are such a busy bee! :)
You succeeded again in making some beautiful gift envelopes.
these are lovely Chrissy and beautiful papers.......gr karin
Oh so clever of you and a quick way of cutting them to make the little holders, Love the pretty papers you use to cover them, and like the mushrooms. I am with you, cutting the sentiments out with dies is so much easier for sure, I can't cut a straight line with scissors to save me :)
What a beautiful up cycle! Love how quickly they went together. (easy for me to say)
