ANOTHER ACCIDENT BUT A HAPPIER ONE!
Hello Everyone...
Had my day off today and it was pouring with rain and really cold...but I didn't care...I stayed inside and played most of the day...but that work is to show you another day...today we had another accident.. but I can see the happy place after a fix up.
Ink reacts pretty funny with water colours..or modge podge..or whatever I plastered over my project..
COPICS DONT PLAY NICE FOR SHADING!!!...I have learned that lesson here....but thankfully with all the wonderful u tube channels I gaze at in wonderment and joy..I learned you can always Gesso over the top of your mess and it does help.
Here we go....
So far so good..[this of course is after a fix up]...
The darker ink behind the sentiment I can live with...but before it was fixed up I had added the ink around the DREAM lettering and man oh man did it bleed...it went everywhere and I just stood there watching it and not knowing what to do...lol..
I remembered to grab some paper towels and re called that wet wipes help wipe it up and that helped a bit...but still it was so brown and messy...
Then U tube came into play again and showed how to Gesso your boo boo's out and start again..well, I gessoed it but never tried THAT again..just left it the way it was with some smudges here and there..
Love this cute little window...it was in a set of die cut cardboard stickers that I purchased somewhere and just added the tiny flowers and bird..
All the other bits and bobs are from my stash and no reason in making this canvas.. just felt the need to play..
Fussy cut this butterfly [ on the right] out if the papers I used and the other butterfly with the pearls down his back was a chipboard one and I covered him with DP papers..that was fun.
So there we go...learning every day and I must stop pulling my hair out..I wont need a haircut at this rate...
Thanks so much for stopping by...hope your weekend is the best..I'm working all weekend but will have a few gaps in the afternoons to play...
see you tomorrow.
luv CHRISSYxx

Chrissy your 'boo boo's' are only for you to know as to me it is fabulous and yes gesso works wonders...love this one and the window adds a fabulous touch...once again fabulous.xxxx
Such trauma Chrissy! I couldn't help laughing at the thought of you watching in horror as the ink spread all over your lovely project -it's the kind of thing I do! Still we don't learn if we don't experiment, you saved it and the end result is so pretty - a lovely canvas.
Have a great weekend!

I think this is gorgeous and the pink is very soft and pretty. It is a funny story, well for the readers. I've had some wonderful messes but hey, least we try and they make for a good story. Barb

This is so elegant looking in a shabby chic way!! I love the detailing of your letters! You can always "blend in" with Copics too...that's something that I love about them! :) Glad you got this one to look the way you wanted!! Happy crafting! HUGS
Wow, an incredibly beautiful accident! Nicely done!
Holy cow Chrissy, this is , dare I say DREAMY! ha, geddit? lol Love the soft colours and those gorgeous pearls around the outside. What a stunning summer garden scene! hugs :)
Seeing the end result I would never have guessed it was a mess at some point. Glad you could save this gorgeous piece. And it's encouraging to hear others make mistakes too and to learn how to cover it up:)
I see no mess! It's lovely Chrissy.
