MID WAY TO CHRITMAS..DT

 Hello everyone,

I know,I know, but we have to face facts it is July and we are half way through the year so we must get our skates on and make Christmas cards..that is our theme over at LITTLE RED WAGON  where I am the hostess.. ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES..

So I have this die and it is adorable, BUT, to make it fit on a card I had to modify a bit and make a special envelope for my 12 inch slimline card..I just could not chop any of the carts away, they all had to be there so my card became 12 inches long..

Proof is in the pudding..lol..12 inches..

I started by die cutting my train..

Then I made some mountains free hand..

Coloured and snowed them up...

One for inside and one for outside....

Gave them a good splattering of white Liquitex ink..

Die cut trees in black twice and joined them together.....

Inside as well...

And then my train and cute carriages, after being coloured with Spectrum Noir markers, were added with foam squares for a lit dimension...

See, not too puffy..

Stamped the "Have a" and "Christmas" and die cut the "Jolly"..

A side view and I added snow along the tracks...

And there we have it, a 12 inch slimline Christmas card with an envelope that is 12 1/2 long and 4 1/4 wide..in a light card stock..

So would love to see you HERE with your midway Christmas projects..

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I'll see you soon..

Luv CHRISSYxx

I'm impressed by this tall slimliner. You show us so many details. You even decorated the inside!
That train with carriages is too sweet.

A mostly unusual size, but totally get you could not sacrifice any wagons. I really like the landscape you made and the snow on the tracks is a great detail. I’ve got some catching up to do, sorry I’ve not been able to visit more regularly, but refinding mojo and finally having a bit of crafting time now:) Time for fun stuff has been scarce this year.

Awwww why did you have to remind us of the fact that we are half way to Christmas Chrissy, lol, actually I don't mind because it seems July has become the new Christmas, lol, that was all that was on Create & Craft and I have seen it shown on other programmes as well, and of course crafters do make festive cards all year long so you can be forgiven I suppose, lol. Chrissy I can see why you could not bear to lose a cart this is fantastic and oh so cute, the scene you have created looks amazing, brilliant work,

Wow, wow, wow... That finished card is gorgeous and I loved seeing the various pictures of the step by step process. Lots of work you put into that card! It makes me chuckle when we need humongous cards to fit a die-cut on. I always wonder what the designer was thinking when he created it... This would make a great scene on a scrapbook page as well (as proven by the size)!. BTW, the card didn't look that big so the ruler really puts things in perspective!

Oh Chrissy!!! Your card is just so fun - inside and out!! The train takes the cake here although those snow-capped mountains are perfect in the background!!

Thanks so much for this challenge. I'm great at starting my Christmas shopping early (as in January!!) but not so great at starting my cardmaking early enough. It's nice to have started - so thank you!!
