ACETATE AND ALCOHOL INKS...

 Hello everyone,

I'm braving it today with my 3/4 pants on, my ankles are feeling the nip this morning, the sun tried to come out then turned all watery and I refuse to put socks on or long pants, I'm going to brave it..it is Spring...see..

They are only single blossoms and very pale pink, but it was my Mothers tree and can not replace it, it is a giant of  a tree and gets pruned back very hard every year..

So onto my card for today, Alcohol and Acetate..

So I inked up my acetate which was not good quality, too thin, but kept on going..

Once dry, which never really happened for AGES, I started cutting things out..

An oval that turned out to be my favourite and glued a gold frame around it and that also helps to flatten it out under an acrylic block..

I also cut this butterfly but as I said, acetate was rubbish and the butterfly was all floppy..
But I did see potential in the white one, which was baking paper..

I never used these ones..

I decided on another rocker, gosh they are fun to do and so addictive..

I had a day of die cutting these flowers and gluing all the layers together, 4 in total and loved every minute of that day, all those tiny centers, even they were fun..

Then used the yellow with white and navy for my rocker...
Damn, I just shivered and those goosebumps hurt..

Added the oval onto the back and that baking paper butterfly...

Although he is very delicate he floats nicely and has a lovely backbone of pearls...

A side view...

And the finished product...so pretty..

Thank you so much for stopping by, I give in, I need a cardigan..brr
See you tomorrow..

Another gorgeous rocker card Chrissy- the acetate panel looks amazing.
Lucky you, just going into spring , it's always wonderful to see the new blossom first appear with it's promise of sunshine and warm weather. I do enjoy the autumn with the leaves turning such glorious colours but spring is definitely best!

What beautiful blossom Chrissy and a very special tree by the sound of it. Love the alcohol ink on acetate. I remember years ago doing something similar with acetate...shimmer powder sprinkled first, squishes of various alcohol inks then (the clever bit!!) scrunched up tissue paper patted onto the alcohol inks and then brushed with PVA glue which made the drying time so much quicker!! Get me giving you a tip!! A stunning rocker and those dinky flowers were SO worth a day!! Hope you warmed up xx

You've created an interesting look with the acetate and inks, and I can imagin the delicate butterfly moving its wings if there's a little breeze. It's a lovely card in what are beautiful autumn colors in my corner of the world.
