A DAY OF WOODEN BUTTERFLIES AND COLOUR...

 Hello everyone,

I had a great the other day playing with my stash of wooden butterflies that I probably had since I first started crafting..sorry there are a large amount of photos...

So here they are..I cannot remember where they came from, probably the $2 shop when they existed..

you got the skeletal bit too,
two sizes and more than likely cheap as chips..

They needed some Gesso to get things started and also to make everything easier..

Then the colours...these are inks..distress inks..

Just drops some drops onto my glass sheet and added water,
just a bit and dabbed the butterflies..

Added darker as I went...

Then a good black splattering...when they were dry of course..

So they are a bit naked here, but we will fix that in a minute..

These ones I pressed them into my Versamark clear ink and embossed with Tim Holtz glazes..

Added bits of gold as well, and just fluffed it on and heat set..

Mmmm...they never did make the final cut..

But I needed to fix my naked butterflies and did this with MB butterfly die set, and just cut the bodies..

One at a time..

Until I had plenty....just in case..

Oooo, look, another background....

With my other background papers I had made I die cut out a load of flowers...

and the butterflies were inked to match...the flowers were first...

and now my butterflies were dressed...

And next up my card using the pink/green butterflies...

Started with a stencil background....doing that a lot lately, really enjoy it..

I adore this Peony Rose from Honey Bee, the layers and how you only colour the tips really to get what you need as each layer covers the other, it is wonderful, and I love the bud, all of it..

And he she is in all her glory with her dressed butterflies and a large LOVE die cut in black..
and simple.." On your Birthday" done on PC..

So there we go, thank you so much for wading through this long post, I hope you enjoyed the makings and I'll see you tomorrow..

Luv CHRISSYxx

These are wonderful, I have a few of them myself, thanks for sharing how you came up with the coloring of them, so neat you were able to match the flowers with them, great idea to use the body from your die cut set they worked perfectly. Gorgeous card!
