Hello everyone,
Okay, I'm ready now to share this Steampunk splash back, I wanted to wait until it was between the glass and up on the wall before it was shared as it looks so much better up there..and of course I have the drag it out with step by step photos..
First up I had prep to do, loads and loads of prep.
I was presented with this map enlarged of course and the two circles are where she was bought up and where her Dad lives now and that is also where they went for Christmas this year..
This was my starting point and to keep those circles alive.
This card stock matched the kitchen cupboards, so had to use that..
and just started adding stuff..emphemra die cuts and pictures fussy cut out..
keys, cogs, heavy duty latches and a fob watch...
these were added at the end and photographed from above as they were not going to stick and far too 3D, it had to remain flat..
always a hot air balloon..
The blue and grey circle are for the boys flower picks to go,
This was her youngest sons flower pick as he found it in their "Garden"..
This Hibiscus was from my garden and the older boy had this one,
we photographed it, not just stuck it down..she sort of wanted it real but
that wasn't going to happen..they were too delicate..
Highlights with Faber Castel big brush markers were added around the die cut elements for a 3D look..
looks rough but it worked..
all this shading etc was done after the first seal with mod podge.
Stampmeria ephemera, the new one called, Songs of the sea"..
These were reference to her father..along with the ship..
Getting there, more colour needed..
Going up for overhead shot....careful now..
lots of tiny cogs in gold and silver and copper...just added randomly.
now time for the heavy duty stuff, more cogs, necklaces all steampunk related stuff from mine and her stash..
Fully loaded now and ready for the glass...
Taa daa...one of proudest moments I must say...
and she loves it, I love it, and I love her,
the newest addition to our family, couldn't be happier.
[deep sigh]
Thank you so much for stopping by..
I'll see after the weekend..
