Hello everyone,
I made it back before the end of the week and going to share more mixed media I suppose you could say, tags, with hats and a slight gambling theme..
First off, I glued these playing cards onto a piece of cardstock Franchivelle
heavy weight card stock.
While they were drying I covered these two with tissue paper ,pre printed
like newspaper and trimmed and inked the edges..
back to the tags, they were trimmed and inked..
Then stenciled with Mont Marte modelling paste,
it is thick but moist and stencils perfectly.
different patterns and designs..
When that was dry, and it sure does not take long because
Holly walked right across them and I nearly had a fit..
but no damage done...phew.
these gears and cogs were die cut and then inked..
Not the best rusty look but not too bad..
Then I layered them up and glued, paper and metal.
Then I sprayed with Tim Hiltz distress stains,
vintage photo, and ground espresso.
Out came my top hat die, cut in black and added tiny
red hearts from Temu..
This was in this picture folder and gave me another laugh, Holly in a basket that was so small for her,but at least she was out of my way..
anyway, tags done, the same but different..
added the ephemera I made with the gears etc..
and dangle sentiment tags..
kept going, I never know when to stop...
added Tim Holts paper dolls minature
and this one..
Love the grunge.
there is the pair, all ready to go..
This one I'm going to enter challenges..
Thank you so much for stopping by..
Have a wonderful weekend when it comes, mine starts tomorrow, and you never know I may be back..
Luv CHRISSYxx

Fabulous tags, love the playing cards with all the stencilling, they look great. I had to laugh at Holly, what is it with Cats and small boxes, I mean Luna has so many gorgeous beds, I even bought her one for her Christmas last year and the little sod sleeps in an amazon box, hahaha.
Have a good weekend. xx
these are fantastic and gorgeous Chrissy and congrats on your toppers..........gr karin
Wow, I love these tags, they look awesome. Thanks for showing how you've made these and congrats for your winning cards.
Greetings Miranda
Wonderful tags, love all the details. Your furry helper is so cute. Anesha x
These are fantastic Chrissy, I'm always fascinated by how you build your amazing layers- love the Steampunk look too.
The photo of Holly squashing herself into that basket made me laugh- such determination! We once had a cat whose favourite place to sleep was in a plastic bag- he was obsessed with them- we had to be very careful not to leave one where he could get at it... you'll be pleased to know he didn't suffocate himself and lived to a ripe old age..!
xx
Congrats on your wins and Top Places. Fabulous tags and love all the layers of texture and embellishments-love the pic of Holly in the basket-I bought my two a bed each and they didn't even give them so much as a sniff-3 months later they went to charity shop!

Beautiful and great idea.
Your tags are stunning! You are so clever Chrissy.
I love how you layered the cards on there and the modeling paste is a cool touch, so glad Holly didn't wreck them, isn't it funny how our cats will try to fit in the smallest places :) cool work on the gears, love the effect you gave them, great use of all the goodies to finish them off!
There's some serious brilliant tags here Chrissy.
FABulous design and I LOve how I can watch them come alive!

Had to smile....A space is near to small for a cat to find comfort in lol. x

Congrats on your wins, Chrissy, and these are some lovely birthday tags for sure. I am happy to know about Mont Marte, it sells on Amazon in the US. I skimmed your photos before reading and thought, how in the world does she do such an amazing job inking up those tiny gears? THEN, you write not your best job but okay. SHEESH, I'll gladly take any you don't think worthy! hahaha Hope you are getting some good winter weather by now, I'm straight up sweating jealousy, heehee. xoxo
I always enjoy seeing your step by step photos. Wasn’t so sure about the scattered playing cards, but the stenciling tied them together beautifully and when the colors and other elements came on as well they sure ended up amazing.
Congrats on your acknowledgments! They are so well deserved. Holly is so funny!
