Hello everyone,
The weekend is here and I'm a day ahead of the rest of the world so I get excited first..
I was even more excited when I came across some wooden frames that I knew I had, but just forgot, but tidying up the garage I came across a box full of them...so of course everything came to a standstill, and I had to play..
I gave this one a quick sanding and painted on four coats of Gesso, I do not use topcoat paint, not really necessary and gesso sands off for that distressed look much easier.
so here we go, nice and white and clean..
this is the matt from the frame and keeping it just like it is..
these gorgeous papers are what I wanted to use, and they are dark and old looking and went perfectly with the green matt..my favourite theme is nautical
these are book pages that I played around with yesterday, and using them for matting behind the pictures..
I squirted ink onto a plastic cloth and added blending solution
then pattered the papers really fast as it dries quick..
as they dried I added more ink and/or solution and pattered them into it again, until I got
these..fun..
So placed the three down and added glue onto the matt..
and pressed down..
this is a beautiful sentiment and I stamped in many times to get it dark enough..
then added moss..
onion bag netting and moss..
onion bag and ship wheel - die cut in brown card stock and added the gold coloured
flat back gems for decoration..
and here she is, all done, a little distressing on the frame, but may add more..
Didn't need the glass so it is just open, going to try sell it, we'll see how it goes..
thank you so much for stopping by..
I'll see you soon..

Brilliant upcycling Chrissy, the frame looks lovely, beautiful images and embellishments. xx
What a lovely home decor item, Chrissy! I always appreciate your details - like the inky background papers - just enough showing to bring out the beautiful of the shore pictures. Your textures look amazing - I can almost smell the ocean! I also loved your coloring technique in the palm trees (post below) on that beach scene tag! Beautifully done! hugs, de
Beautiful nautical creation Chrissy!

WOW, WOW, WOW you have knocked it out of the ball court for sure with this fantastic, out of the world project, from beginning to end you have created something so special and so beautiful the images the additional nautical embellishments adds to the authenticity of the theme (I hope I am making sense with my words) stupendous work of art I really don't think you would have any problem selling any of your works, maybe you should open up a small studio or shop you would certainly make some money,

Dang, girl! You make me feel positively lazy in comparison. You make your detailed creations seem so easy, and yet I know you take the time to plan them out and execute them so precisely. Truly, this is a work of art! Bravo!!!
