Christmas in New Zealand

Hello Everyone,

Another beautiful day has begun...and I made a card to share which is one of those cards that has a real sentimental tug to it.

I saw a challenge over at Winter Wonderland  and this image popped straight into my head, and I knew exactly what I wanted the achieve with it.

"Across the miles" is the theme and this means so much to me as it is going to my Brother[ for sure]

In New Zealand at Christmas we [hopefully] have sun and hot weather...right in the middle of summer...but be assured that does not stop me cooking the traditional Christmas dinner.

So this card is inspired by the challenge AND our Chrtistmas weather....

I'm so happy how this one turned out...The image is from Whoopsie Daisy...had her for a long time.
Coloured with pencils, and inked the sky and sea..used a post it note to mask to get the horizon.

Used real sand for the beach, and white paint for the sea foam...
Added the sentiment. and a few flowers and ribbon.

I'm going to also enter this card at Simon Says  and it is anything goes.

If I seem very quiet today, it's because I'm exhausted...I've decided I do not like looking after 2 homes, birds, cats, dogs, dealing with mechanics, grumpy clients, and  going between computers, one for comments one for posting, a bed thats it too hard....roll on Friday [tomorrow] for me, as I'm sleeping in my own bed...just for the night, I'm aching everywhere.

Oaky doaky...thats me done, hope you like my card, time to head off to work, sorry for the grump, but I feel better now...

Luv CHRISSYxx

Oh I do like this, Chrissy. It's so atmospheric and makes me think of my sister in Hamilton! Must try and get over to NZ, maybe next year. And mate, tell me about it - there's nothing like your own bed!! Hugs, Tracey x

Hi Chrissy, I love your card it's awesome a real New Zealand Christmas. When I was very young I always wondered why we got Chrimstmas cards with snow on them and everyone was dressed up in overcoats and gloves. I remember when I was 6 I had the measles one Christmas day it was very hot the tar was melting on the roads and I remember asking my mum if it was going to snow, she had such a surprised look on her face she must of thought I was delirious, but I was thinking of those cards we received and as a little child you don't realise how the seasons happen around the world. Take care this is such a lovely New Zealand Christmas Card.

Crissy! I love your blog! Your creations are just gorgeous! This card is so perfect for across the miles. She is certainly missing someone way out there. I know how hard it is to scrap somewhere besides home. I tried to take things to mom's everyday but never seemed to have what I needed so now I just take images to color while there. Hope you car is fixed soon and you will be all done dog watching so you can get rested. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such sweet comments. I really appreciate them. Hugs.
