I had a post all ready for today [ Sunday] and scheduled it and everything, but this song
" Up Up and away" kept playing over in my head, so decided to post this commission instead.,do you remember the song by 5th Dimension.
Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon?

Is it in your head now?...is it?....pass it forward, just doing my duty...sorry..
Okay, another sorry, lots of pictures..
Found this free colouring picture, copied and resized it
then printed it out. unfortunately, water colour paper will not go through my printer, so had to use normal, but cheap card stock and was really impressed how it held up with water..
First couple of layers..
just slapped it on, not neat at all, you don't need to be..
added greens and blues etc, bit darker red..[ not so much water makes it darker]
and there they are, ready for fussy cutting...
had to re add the lines as the paint covered them.
Done..lines are a bit dark, should have used a lighter grey marker, never mind, they're alright..
Next....the Moons..
One..
two, three and four..
and lots of ink on the edge..makes a difference..
Trees...same thing
One..
Two three..
Four and five..
Splattered and done..
Now we build a BIG long card for a hot air balloonist for Christmas..
Bits are all ready to go..
First balloon on..
Second balloon getting its tag added and ready to go..
Don't like the double string, buy couldn't see the problem at first..
So, three balloons are up there.

Flying through the night sky [ I would be terrified]
Definitely 12 inches long..
not too much dimension, she didn't card how dimension there was, so that's good.,
Needed stars, that gave some sparkle..
Standing up..
That double string drove me crazy, it has to go..
Gone, cut it and tied it, much better.

Wonderful card, really gorgeous! I won a balloon ride once. At first I was terrified, but then it was so fantastic to see everything from above, and I was sad when we touched down again. Hugs, Valerie

I love how you colored the hot air ballons, they gave me the steampunk vibe the way they turned out. Awesome tall slimline design with the sentiment hanging from the string. So cool.

Gorgeous hot air balloons and I love the colouring. Also from the moons and the fab trees. Cutting off that string was a good idea....much better now.

Yes that song will be in my head all day I am sure. I would never think of using hot air balloons on a Christmas card but these look terrific, I love your starry sky with it and the pretty tree is a nice touch to the scene
