BUGS,BUGS AND MORE BUGS..

 Hello everyone,

I'm so into making booklets, and journals , art journal, themed, and sometimes not, and really trying hard to make a junk journal, but for today, it is all about BUGS!!!!

I got these stickers and I loved them, they freaked me out especially when I had dropped one and not noticed, and after things were put away, I spotted this thing on my desk, and freaked a bit, it was big and looked creepy..but had a great time making this booklet journal..

Here's my bugs, big bright and beautiful..

lots of them..they are like washi stickers and pretty easy to peel..

My journal pages which were reams of brown paper all wrinkled up and not pretty,
and I spent as long time smoothing them all out, then folding them cutting them, folding again and cutting again, until I had a lovely big stack of them..

Picked the amount I wanted, not too much,
 and sewed them together ..

A cardboard cover and the booklet washi taped and glued
to the right side in the middle-ish..

Some panels I made and shared begore, makes for an instant page fill
when the grey stops playing..

more book pages ripped and guess what I am adding to them..

BUGS and toadstools and a paper doll from Tim Holtz..
and I gave him a name..he is Visiting Entomologist.

So, I gathered some friends and colleagues and loads more
bugs, jars, labels stickers, you name it..

I used stickers and ephemera which made no sense to the theme
but they worked, as they made the pages look busy..

and stamping, lots of stamping making tickets etc..

Ephemeras..made lots of them..

All the perfect size to go in the pockets that are inside..

I had so much fun..even when I glued a pocket upside down I laughed, sort of crazy like, not natural at all, but fixed it up without insanity taking over..

Holly dropped and planted her butt right onto the stickers..

and stayed...

Here's one of the bottles, it is a clear sticker and I
added vellum behind it carefully to make it look full..

So now I will stop writing and nattering away out loud
and just show the pages starting with the.

You do make me laugh girl, honestly I wish you were nearer :)) Anyways, what a fabulous journal, I have to say whenever I see Field Notes on something I think of the Spiderwick Chronicles, I do love that film, how daft am I....Back to why I am here, this little book is so interesting, I love it, the bottle is also wonderful and love the belly band belt, its all fabulous. BTW, I have alot of stickers that drive me nuts getting the back off until I stuck some sellotape folded on my matt and just put the corner of the sticker on, it peels off like a dream.
Have a great weekend. xx

Your creativeness and humour makes my day, it's a beautiful project, who could say that about bugs? Me! I love the tip about putting vellum behind the bottle to make it seem full. Great thinking there, I hope I can remember it. x

Chrissy it's fabulous! I want to make a journal now, but it would take me forever to create something as detailed and interesting as this! Love the pages ...even the bugs! xx

Thanks for keeping me entertained. Honey was helping the stickers to stick down! Your book is fabulous, and the bugs are beautiful, just don't let me get too close to one. Just now the gnats are having fun each night, I HATE them! My arm is like a pin-cushion! Hugs . not bugs!

WOW what a mindblowing project Chrissy, WOW, I love bugs as long as they leave me alone and not crawl on me, lol, Chrissy this is creativity at it's best, the detail however small is a work of art and so interesting I find it awesome that each and every item work perfectly together whether they are meant to or not they just do. The vintage element always holds my attention more that any other theme I feel an attachment to the bygone era, but also the Nature theme with the mushrooms and bugs. I would never of thought of putting vellum behind a bottle to make it look as if it has something in it, to me that is the mind of a brilliant artist, needless to say the is an exceptionally wonderful project.

What an amazing book! I love all the bits you have created. I currently have been making more ephemera than I have other cards. It's just soooo much fun. Great job!
