The title today says it all, that is our Kate's theme over at Little Red Wagon this week..
"Who wants to live forever - Birthdays."
I had a request a few weeks ago for an explosion box for someone's Mum who was turning 102..
This is the a panel of the box card..I made a tiny envelope to pop a " Just For You" tag inside.
and you can take the tag out..
the panels were loaded in flowers and other sentiments..
She was able to turn the box and read everything...
It's always good to get lovely feedback too, she was a very happy lady..
all the butterflies had purple, as she loves purple..
The middle butterfly had acetate sticking up so the butterfly was floating..
apparently, she was so gentle and used her finger to make it flutter..
There's a shot of it laying flat and wide open..
and the lid had a tiny frame and MUM spelt out with gold die lettering to fit....just.
and I added a miniature gold and gem encrusted bee..
and the box with its crooked lid,
which I later fixed..

Oh wow 102, I can't even imagine that. Such a gorgeous and special creation for such a special birthday, I bet she will just love it!! I love that fancy frame for the box lid and the butterflies and flowers are just wonderful inside!
OH! Chrissy, this is so very special for a lady who could actually touch and move the butterfly too, so many beautiful details in this magical box. Of course, she loved it, a wonderful age to get too. We have an Aunt, I'm making a card for, who is 100 at the end of the month. I couldn't make it as special as this though.

What a lovely gift for the birthday lady! So many pretty bits and bobs! I really need to try to make one of these boxes sometime.
All I have to say is WOW! Beautiful and such a special card for a special occasion.
